Need help for material idea
Hello,
I'm looking to make a costume of the Zero unit class from the game Infinity. I figured out how to build most of it and read a lot of tutorial but I have trouble with the rippled part of the suit. Here is deviantart image which I just found out : http://albandiz.deviantart.com/art/Raisa-Zero-39957787 At first I was thinking about getting corduroy, and then later I noticed my socks do the exact same effect as the picture. I tried a test with normal t-shirt and I cannot have the same effect with that material. Almost everyone in the Bakunin army have that same orange part. For example the Sin-Eater have it integrated with his pants : http://www.infinitythegame.com/infin...-0252-azul.jpg http://www.infinitythegame.com/infin...-0311-azul.jpg But in the case of the Prowler, it looks like it worn under the pants and under the upper armour : http://www.infinitythegame.com/infin...-0279-azul.jpg The art on the Morlock box show it in a bigger plan. (http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Infinity-73-Nomads-Die-Morlock-Gruppen-4-Bakunin-Fireteam-Unit-Box-Der-Gruppe-/00/s/MTM4M1gxNjAw/$%28KGrHqFHJE!E88,mKty3BPWQ!hJPE!~~60_57.JPG) From up close it looks like if the orange part (which is not orange on the Morlock) is sewn on the pants the same way you get a pleated skirt. So I think that following the pleated skirt tutorials would work for when it is mixed with normal clothing. The problem is that for the Zero, there are large portions where the effect has to appear by itself : http://www.infinitythegame.com/infin...-0327-azul.jpg I'm looking for any idea of how to achieve that. So far I have either corduroy (if I can find it in orange); or find out the science behind how sock does it naturally; or create the effect and sew it on a layer of clothing underneath it. If I can't get it to work then I'd fall back to doing a Sin-Eater costume instead. |

Not gonna lie, this is a tough one for me. X_X
Fact: Corduroy comes in obnoxious colors. I can't recall if I have seen orange but I am sure it's out there. ![]() I like your pleating idea, actually. If you tack it down with black thread, you'd get that look. Sadly I can't think of any more advice at the moment! I hope someone comes along to help soon! ;_;
