Actually, me too! The moment they announced TMR, they had my money. I've been to Otakon in the past but it has just grown too big and sardine-crowded for me to feel comfortable. ^^;

I'm just calling it TMR-con and plan to sit in TMR-related lines all day in TMR cosplay, armed with portable gaming devices and extra batteries. xD

The only reason I am GOING to Otakon this year is because of T.M.Revolution <3

I am also cosplaying Heine Westenfluss (Gundam SEED Destiny) in honor of him <3 (Since he does the voice of him in the Japanese version <3)

I'm glad that he's inspiring people to attend. My last Otakon was 2003, y'know, the last time he was there! I don't think I'll have any TMR related cosplay unless I break down and do something from Sengoku Basara, but I'm stoked for any and all programming featuring him!

Does Otakon do any sort of ticketing? I remember what a pain waiting in line for the 2003 concert was, especially when they filled in the room in a terrible way (where the earlier you were in line didn't matter for a good seat). I feel like they should offer separate tickets for this. I'd gladly pay a premium for it!

Oh god if they do that I MUST KNOW! Do you know how you can find out? Since I've NEVER been to Otakon and I'm only going to see Taka-chan (my weebo name for him tr0ll) ~

I kinda really hope they have some sort of add-on VIP ticketing. :T And they schedule things so that if you go to the panel, you're not screwed for concert seatings.
I guess we just have to wait to see!

edit: I asked on the otakon boards. Hopefully will get an answer soon!

Oh why thankyou dear!! I just bought my ticket awhile back. And this is like a BIRTHDAY gift to me from my parents (since they're paying for some of it) so I'm only going to see him sing.

Since I usually go to animeNEXT and all but Otakon this year is a MUST to see T.M.Revolution!

My last concert line experience at Otakon was back in 2008, and there wasn't any ticketing. Just a normal line, like for panels.

All of the concert at Otakon are free have been and I don't see them changing this isn't AX where you have to buy a separated ticket for a concert.

Thanks for the info everyone! The picture is becoming clearer to me.
I think the last time I was at an Otakon concert, there was a ticket (free) AND a line to stand in to get the best seats. lol.

AX actually doesn't offer super-registration with VIP benefits if I recall correctly but I've been to other cons that do. (VIP benefits are like 1 hr early entrance to dealer's room, don't have to wait in line to get into panels, guaranteed front row seats for concerts, sometimes even meet the guests, free con swag, etc.) Didn't know if Otakon had done/was consider doing a tiered registration like other cons. Now I know!

The reply from Otakon staff

The venue seats approximately 10,000 easily. We won't run out of seats.


There is no additional charge for the T.M.R. x HMKU concert, nor any way to buy a better seat. (Winning one, however, may be possible...)


We'll be announcing more details closer to the event.
