My Red Skin Shows Through My White Make-up

I've got moderately bad rosacea on my face and no matter how much makeup I cake on (normal and costume makeup), the red still shows through.

So when I applied Mehron's Clown White to my face, I expected the thick cream to cover up the red... but nope, the red sticks out even more. See this photo for reference on what I mean. The grey covers up my red skin(Grey isn't the color I'm going for), but the pure white just isn't cutting it, and I need a nice white face.

Is there some secret to covering up the red? I've tried sheer green primers with no significant results. I don't want to cake on the white to where it's a pure pure white, but how else can the red go away? Help is always appreciated.

Try getting a light green paint and putting that on first, sealing it, then painting over that.

Green or blue redness reducing primer might help. Or a redness calming moisturizer.

Clinique has a redness reducing line of skin products for people with Rosacea. I only use the cleanser, but it's really gentle and works quite well, I highly recommend it. ^^

You've said that you've used green primer. Is that picture with or without the green?

I'm not sure if the red is showing through due to sweat or not, but you can always try a primer all over your face first, there are a lot of green primers as well. Then white paint. I'd be weary of using green paint first unless you apply a thin layer, because the tone might show through to the white, despite being sealed in between.
