Mannequin stand

Okay so while this really isn't a cosplay question, its for something that would help make a cosplay so I thought this might be the place to put it (hopefully)?
I really REALLY can't afford those pricy dress forms. But I really REALLY need one.
So after calling up just about every store I can think of and asking if they had any old/broken/used mannequins that I could buy and being turned down every time, I finally found one store nearby that is about to go out of buisness. Problem is they only half those torso mannequins on the hangers that are sort of cut in half and hang up on the back of dressing rooms.
I got one for free which I was SOO happy about. Thing is I really want to stand it up like a sewing dress form so I can build on it and not worry about it faling over. I duct taped the hollow back part and filled with newspaper so its all ready to use except for the whole standing up part ^^
I saw someone on youtube use a big bucket with a wooden stake and some cement but id really hesitate to do that as I'm not really the most DIY kinda person. What else could I use to stand it up (not hang it but stand it up)? I was thinking maybe some plastic plumbers pipes to form the base? But would that really be stable enough?

Maybe a free standing toilet paper holder? I use it to put my wig head on, though the stand may be a bit short for a mannequin. If you ever are ready to plunge for a mannequin, I got mine for $100 at my fabric store. That's about the cheapest I ever found one

Got a thrift shop around? Get an old wheely desk chair and pull the chair off (they usually have four bolts holding the post to the bottom of the chair), and then stick your mannie on top.

Sheet-music stand poles work great; they're what I do my wigs on. Since they're usually built with tripod bottoms they're pretty sturdy. And collapsible ones are easy to take the top part off of.

Thanks all for the speedy replies!
And a HUGE thank you to Nostrum!
I went with your idea and got myself over to our local Goodwill shop and what do you know I find a multitude of used computer/desk chairs. ^^ The one I got even has a dial to make the chair lower or higher. And for $11, you can't beat it.
So after harvesting the seat part to use for future cosplays, I now have a wheeling, height adjustable mannequin. Made for a whopping $11. (In your face, expensive dress forms!)
Thanks again Cosplay.com forum dwellers!

I'm a little late to this, but I just remembered a page I had bookmarked about how to make a custom dress form using cling wrap and duct tape. It's in German, but google chrome can fix that, and the pictures are pretty self-explanatory.
