How do you keep up with recent anime?

To be honest, it has been such a long time since I've actively watched anime. I'm so behind with the continuation of older anime and the release of new anime. I don't even know the terminology everyone is using to depict anime characters, since I've never been too involved in the anime community, like tsundere or yandere and so on. My interest for anime has always been private, between me and the computer. So, I have no idea where to go to keep up, or rather catch up the all the new anime! Are there any specific websites or forums any of you go to, to catch news of anime being released or what is popular at the moment?

I don't go anywhere specific, but Tumblr is a great help in seeing bits and pieces of news about different topics. I finally got into watching Project K and Magi after seeing them multiple times and wondering what they were.

I browse/edit TV Tropes. Most anime, TV series and games tend to start appear on pages when they accumulate enough fans, so it's a pretty good litmus test.

It's good for webcomics as well, but they don't tend to show up until they've been around for a while.
Me on twitter.

To do; Dark Link (80%) Link (20%) Sheik (?)

Can't write, can't draw. Can code, a little.

I don't -shrug-

If someone has a recommendation I look into it and decide from there if it's something that sparks my interest. Sometimes it's recent, sometimes it's much older.

Seeing as most anime series comes from a manga you might want to consider checking out local bookstores to see what's recently been updated for an idea of what's on-going and popular.
Iíll tell you what people look like, really: they look like flames. Or like the stars, on a clear night in the wilderness.

I find new anime and magna on http://www.anime-planet.com/ I really like this site because you can chart where you are in every show, and rate them. You can leave a recommendation for each show (if you liked ___, you'll love ___!), and read other people's recommendations.

They always have a news feed that lets you in a=on all the new shows!

I've actually found most of my favorite shows using this site, and the best part is, it's completely free!

I don't, honestly.
I find out enough from people on tumblr blogging about stuff but I usually won't really watch anything unless it looks really interesting or a friend offers to watch it with me.

I use myanimelist to record everything I watch. It's a pretty big database so I know how to search for series by what I like or by ratings I find favorable. Keeping up with the seasons and what is newly released helps. Having friends that are also seasonally watching anime helps 'cuz if there is a show you wanna talk about you can talk about it together. Tumblr helps a lot with that too. I've met so many smile precure friends 'cuz of it.

This is EXACTLY what I do. Like hit the nail on the freaking head there lol

Once someone mentions an anime, I will look up cosplays first, for some reason lol then look up pics of the characters and such then read about it on whatever site be it wiki, an anime info site or anime streaming site (all the site's I watched anime on have discriptions). Reading the info will tell me whether or not I will like it.

Mostly I just hear about it from talk on other forums, DeviantArt, and also occasionally checking MyAnimelist (: Though nowadays even if I know a little about what the current anime are about, I really haven't been watching them for the past year or so. Mostly just catching up on anime from previous years when I have the time D:

I'm super lazy about my anime-watching, and I generally just watch what's up on Netflix to stream. I'll use anime to play in the background while I work on things (so I prefer dubbed, unlike my boyfriend, but I was pissed before last Otakon when all the anime he downloaded was subbed so I never knew what was going on while I worked on my costume).

Essentially, I'll set up to watch/listen to a few episodes, and if it doesn't interest me after that I'll move on to try something else and maybe come back later. Plus, lots of devices will stream Netflix, so it's no big deal to get things all set up and working between multiple devices and everything. Plus, I belive an anime streaming service has also come to Xbox for streaming - I forget which, but I had been thinking of looking into them.

So I suppose you can say I don't really stay current at all - I just end up waiting for things to come to Netflix dubbed. :P

I have Facebook; if I see a series I think is interesting posted by one of my friends, I'll either know the name of it or ask what it is or what it's about..if they recommend it, I'll usually watch it.

Lately I've been really wanting to watch Project K, but my computer's been really finicky about playing videos so I haven't gotten the chance. :C

I watch/read what I see people around here cosplaying. Did this with Amnesia.

The other option is seeing a character on Zerochan, liking the design, and reading/watching it. Did this with Magi.
