Temporary White Hair Dye

I'm wanting to temporarily dye parts of my hair white and the only thing I've come across so far is the Dye Hard Manic Panic Temporary Dye.

www.manicpanic.com

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

You can't dye your hair white without bleaching your hair first, which is not a temporary solution, and can also really mess up your hair if you don't know what you're doing.

Long story short, there's no such thing as temporary white hair dye.

[edit] Unless you were talking about this stuff: http://www.manicpanic.com/dhgels.html

Which isn't really hair dye, it's more colored hair jell, which will look pretty bad (I feel its up there with colored hairspray) since you'll just have hard bits of hair on your head, while the rest of your hair will be natural.

If you want white in your hair but you don't actually want to dye it, I'd go with something like this:

Belle - howabout buying white hair extensions and clipping them into your real hair?

What about someone willing/able to use that on their whole head rather than just on parts of it? Is it worthwhile then?

The gel stuff? It'll still be crunchy and nasty and fake-looking. The only difference is it'll be uniformly crunchy and nasty and fake-looking. :/ Navigated's right, it looks a lot like the ugly Halloween hairspray.

To answer your question, no there is no such thing. If you are considering going white, check out this going white tutorial (with pictures too!)
but, you unless your hair can handle that much bleaching/damage and you know it can handle it, do I suggest attempting to go white.
Like, Mr.Kitty said, your hair will be stringy, and not be much fun to wash.

I have white hair only once, and although i did not have serious damage (my hair is a light ashe blonde naturaly and takes bleaching/dying well), washing my hair was not enjoyable because it would clump up and turn into a rats nest when wet. >.>

Take a look at this product from Ben Nye, which would be your best option for temporarily changing parts of your hair to white. Their products are quite good, too.

Hope this helps!

This stuff is generally meant to be used for theatrical productions where you have to make people look older, thus the large bottle of grey. THe problem with it is though, it still makes your hair crunchy and clump together. While unlike colored hair jell, you can still brush your hair out and the color will remain, however, it will flake out of your hair if you do brush it (it says on the information that it won't, I've worked with this stuff numerous times in the past, and it does flake), so you'll still have white in your hair, but it'll look more like dandruff than anything else.

I still think some clip in white extensions would be the best solution here.

I'll defer to the fact knowledge is power here - while I never had problems with the Ben Nye, I can't say I've ever messed with extensions, the only thing that makes me wonder is how do you keep the clips from showing?

On the off-chance I ever end up using an effect like this, being unbiased against trying something different. :3

The trick with clip-in extensions is to root them close to your scalp under a few layers of hair and just pull the extension to the outside of your hair. Then blend it in ^___^
