Adding sideburns to a lace front wig?

Hello there!
I've made a thread before in this forum searching for a wig for my Gabriel the Trickster cosplay, and found a rather nice one that i've bought and it's sitting right here in front of me.
I bought the Cady wig from Arda and it is a lace front.
Now i've been experimenting with makeup and such for the sideburns and stubble he has (ref pics below), but none of the sideburn makeup i did did him very much justice. Now I read online and saw in one of Arda's tutorials on how to cut back the lace, that you could leave the little sideburn parts in order to manually ADD in sideburns. Now my question is, HOW?
Because that's obviously the route I need to take unless there are better suggestions/ideas out there. I've tried the whole spirit gum and crepe hair method, but it never really worked out very well for me in the past. I have a bad run in with crepe hair being applied directly onto my skin just because it never really looks quite right.
SO. That being said, is there any easy method to make his sideburns into the actual wig? Or if not, is there a better method for sideburns that would come easier/show better results?
Thank you all so very much in advance!

Arda has the tools and the extra hair you would need for it.

for side burns the hair will have to be densssly woven to shave it down short.

Thank you! I honestly have no idea how i would even go about starting that process. It seems rather complicated to me; but it does seem like the way that would give the best results. I'm conflicted, ahhh. Well, thank you for your help anyway <3
