Plus-size pinafore pattern pronto, please!

I think the lolis are the ones most likely to know the kind of thing I'm looking for -- specifically, a pinafore-like dress with a roomy skirt that doesn't hinder movement or threaten immodesty. Nothing restrictive, too long or too short. Maybe something knee-length or a bit longer that can be worn with petticoats or bloomers.

The more I think about it, the more I want it to be a skirt with an overall-type front and straps that cross in the back. Less girly than a lot of the loli stuff, I know, but if the patterns out there are the right shape it's easy enough to leave off the frilly bits.

Here's my sketch.

I'm going to make it out of a heavier fabric. If I want to go for luxury and softness I'll do velvet, or if I want to steampunk it up as play/work clothes I'll go with corduroy.

Anyone have any tutorials or patterns that are tried and tested on bigger figures? Even a pattern for a skirt with a decent waistband would be great, and I could figure out the front and straps myself. Thanks in advance!

How ever yours is more like a smock top with a full skirt. You could use the one above for reference/a staring point.

Ooo. I love the fuller skirt option on that one. Might get something like that and reshape the neckline.

Does that pattern fit like an empire waist or does the waistline ride at the true waist?

I found this awesome Skirt Cheat Sheet which is giving me some great ideas. I'm making an ankle-length wool skirt for a different costume using the six-panel design and I may remake it with shorter wider trapezoids for the pinafore.
