Smile Wander help from Shadow of the Colossus

I'm going to a convention in a little less than two months, BUT I just played a game called Shadow of the Colossus. So I have a bit of a last minute cosplay idea. I know I can make it fast, it's just a matter of cost and finding the materials in time

Does anyone have any idea how I can make this character? :

It's hard to find a clear picture of a full body, but I can find pictures of different pieces of his attire.

I made the basic tan colored shirt that Wander wears in the game. I haven't added anything else to it.

Also, for his tabbard, does anyone know a way to make this that isn't so tedious? I planned on painting it with acrylic, but then I'm also worried about trying to make it have the weathered look, and whether the transparency from the paint will look okay.

Then I was wondering if anyone knew how I can make these things (keeping in mind they'd be dangling around whenever I walk all day, so nothing that is breakable) They're the somewhat thin candle-like objects that hang on his belt :

More pictures of him:

I have a basic idea as to how I can create most of everything, but if there's a better way to do something I want to make sure I learn how to do that.

If I manage to get this done, I'd really also like to tackle his sword uv u: http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/i/20...lk-d57j7rj.jpg

So if anyone knows how to do any one of those things or has suggestions that would be beyond great. Thanks for reading this whole thing.
