Just checked the tracking info on my Mikasa cosplay and it was in San Francisco on Monday, so it should be here literally ANY day now. I am SO excited.
I'm the tall person with an average torso but long legs (35-36" inseam) so boots are a hit or miss. I think the place you got your boots from is the same place I'm looking at so it's good to know they should fit well.

EDIT: Yes! I double checked and that is the place I'm thinking of getting boots from. I saw the boot height was like 25" or something and I measured and it seems they'll fit me well. I'm hoping to order them at the beginning of next month once bills and stuff are paid.

Wow! Those look really good! I have to stop by and see how they look in person!

I'm that tall person with an Adventure Time proportioned body. Ridiculously short torso, freakishly long arms and legs. If these boots work for me they'll work for you, virtually guaranteed. Shipping takes about two weeks tops on these boots. Post pictures when you get them! I'd love to see where they hit on you compared to where they hit on me.

It's why I cosplay Princess Bubblegum, because I'm tall and noodly (and she's awesome).

But anyway, yes, I will totally take pics of my boots when I get them!

Oddly enough, this is also one of the reasons I cosplay Marceline. Tall, noodly, thin, and of course, because Marceline is a badass and I see a lot of myself in her.

I always have to see some of myself in the characters I cosplay, which is one reason I'm really looking forward to cosplaying Mikasa.

She represents the side of me that's somewhat cold and goal-oriented, doing whatever it takes to be the best, while also caring immensely about my friends and family. Much like Mikasa, if anyone comes after my loved ones, I will fuck them up.

Long story short, Mikasa's a badass and I CANNOT EFFING WAIT until my Mikasa cosplay comes in which should be by the end of this week.

Y'all will be getting pictures when I test run her this weekend, assuming the package with my cosplay and wig come in by Friday night or Saturday afternoon.

Ooh, those boots are nice! About how high up on your knees do they go? The boots my friends and I bought went too high (they seemed between knee high and thigh high), so we had to cut the tops off and take off a couple of inches to lower the tops. Do those boot tops just barely cover your knees, or do they go higher? Curious, because if my group ever decides we want better boots, these would be nice replacements! (Our boots don't have any heel, and it bugs us, lol.)

Woohoo! So Armin is pretty much done! All that's left is adding some snaps to the pants to help hold some of my harness belts up, and then adding a hook to my sash to close it, and I'm done. My Eren and Mikasa and I will be debuting our costumes this weekend, so hopefully I'll have some photos to share. Can't wait!

My Mikasa cosplay arrived! Technically it came in yesterday morning but the tracking info didn't update til last night so I didn't know until this morning, and then I promptly went to get the mail to get my cosplay. Everything looks great, except the waist towel, which is made of an annoyingly shiny pleather type material. The belts look like they may not be a complete set and are made from the same material as the waist towel, so I may need to order the RulerCosplay set from Amazon. At least that way we'll all be matching, assuming my PiC decides to order it too.

All in all, I'm VERY pleased with what I got and would highly recommend this seller. I bought it from RedstarCosplay on Etsy. They have tons of cosplays available as well as the option to order a custom size, which I did due to aforementioned Adventure Time proportioned body.

I wore the jacket to school this morning over my navy blue romper and it looks fabulous. I love that I can wear the boots and jacket in everyday life and not just for cosplay.

The sleeves on the jacket need to be taken in a bit, as they're quite wide on my super thin noodly arms, but my PiC can take care of that in less than an hour. All in all I'm very happy with this purchase.

Also, I ordered the wig from them too and I haven't tried it on yet but it looks great straight out of the bag!

Pictures to come when I try it all on.

I just put one boot on to check, and the top of the boot sits right at the middle of my kneecap. They have some nice flexibility to them as well - my only small nitpick is that the tread is smooth at the ball of the foot, and the heel doesn't have a ton of grip either. I'm a bit of a klutz, so I may buy some treads to add so that I don't take myself out on smooth floors.

Hope that helps!

----

Sooo mad that the Old Navy closest to me didn't have clearance white jeans in my size to use. Well they did have my size in the exact cut of jean I usually buy, but when I went to try them on, they fit like someone shrank them in the wash several times over. I really don't want to spend a ton on white pants that I'd only wear for this costume. Guess I'll check a few other stores, since white pants are out of season right now at most places.

Uploaded some pictures for Mikasa. Check 'em out: http://www.cosplay.com/costume/467376/

More to come later when the jacket's dry. I had to throw it in the wash cos I somehow managed to get a big grease spot on the front. Luckily it came clean in the wash.

I got my patches today! Ordered them from Recon Depot on Storenvy, and I really like them!

The set I got is 1 large patch for a cloak, 1 large patch for the jacket back, 2 small patches for the shoulders, and 1 smaller one for the front pocket.

With shipping, it all came out to $50, which is a lot better than the $60 sets I saw on Etsy (with fewer patches).

^^I can vouch for these and say they are really nice! I bought mine a couple months ago, and I love them! They weren't too difficult to sew on, and the quality is very nice and looks good on the jacket.
