make up sealers

i was looking into buying a bottle of ben nye final seal, but its like $12-14 just for a 2oz bottle
anyone have any suggestions of something that works just as well?
i've heard of using unscented baby powder to set prosthetics and such, or baby oil as a make up remover, but i'm not too sure what to use to get my make up to last all day.
considering most cons i go to are during the summer, photoshoots are mostly outdoors and it's crazy humid here, my make up generally doesnt make it through the entire day

The cheapest one I can think of is from e.l.f., for $3. I've seen it at Target and K-Mart. There are a variety of recipes online if you want to make your own.

Really, the sealer is designed to do one thing- seal.
It'll be the best thing for the job, and if you don't use loads at once, it lasts.

Final Seal is NOT that expensive in the 2oz bottle unless you're seeing it being sold in a shady costume shop. SillyFarm has it available in that size for $7USD, but I'd just fork out $18 for the larger 80z bottle, as you get 6 extra ounces for close to double the price and it will LAST you.

But if you still want to go cheaper, you could give this a try. I've never used it as I have a giant jug of Final Seal, but at $9 it couldn't hurt. Just look around for some reviews.
