Mandarin Dress Patterns

Hey, I'm thinking of cosplaying as Azusa from Devil Hunter Yohko.
I've tried searching for a mandarin dress/collar pattern, but I can't find any. I've searched on pattern sites such as McCalls and others, but there's nothing.

Does anyone know where I can find one?

Thanks!
-Nikki

http://www.folkwear.com/ makes ethnic patterns. Their "Chinese Jacket" pattern might work well for you; I've used it many times, and found it easy to work with.

I've actually made one from a McCall's pattern - seen them in Simplicity...I just wish I remembered the number. If you didn't try Simplicity you might want to (make sure to check the costume section!). Sorry I couldn't be of more help - hoshikage will probably be better at helping you! Good luck!

McCall's and Simplicity both have patterns for this.

I was actually looking them up the other day for a different costume, but I think I have the numbers somewhere around here.

Some are for dresses, some for shirts...some have a zipper up the back and some have frog closures going in a diagonal down the front and some have them just at the collar.

Simplicity 5586 and 5796
McCall's 4369
Butterick 6057

I've never used any of these, but I hope it helps. ^_^

Simplicity pattern number 9868 is absolutely perfect for it. It has the exact closure design, collar, and comes with directions on how to add sleeves. (You could easily alter the sleeve patterns that come with it in this case.)
Use the Tunic option as it will get you the exact length you need.
Not only that, it's extremely simple to use!
I'm using it for my Chun-Li costume, so I'm speaking from experience.
Good luck!

Thank you so much! All of you were really helpful.

That first site, folkwear.com was really interesting (If I ever feel the need to make a french cheesemaker's smock.... ^^; ).

I had searched simplicity, but I guess not well enough!

Thank you all once again. Maybe I'll see some of you at Otakon!

It was not easy finding my pattern! My boyfriend and I poured over as many books as were near us in the fabric store till he found the right one.
