Fabric choice?

Hola! So I'm planning a gw2 cosplay this year and I'm not quite sure what fabric to pick?

http://media-ascalon.cursecdn.com/at...1402893088.png

It's going to look something like that. (well the red will be purple but that doesn't really matter)

There's kind of a shine to the red, and it's very flowy but I find very difficult for people to pull off the shiner fabric with out it looking cheap. And the gold is even more shiney... Any suggestion?

Maybe it's just my screen, but the red doesn't look all that shiny to me. In any case, a charmeuse might give you the shiny-ish finish you're looking for. It flows really beautifully and doesn't look cheap like a satin would.

As for the skirt, I think it'd be easiest to base it off of a circle design.

Silk charmeuse is good, or just a plain weave silk - I agree that it doesn't look very shiny. A silk-cotton blend might also work.

The skirt looks gathered to me, but there's not much skirt being shown in the image.

Or, you could still use satin, but if you go to Joann's get the Casa Collection satin. It doesn't have the cheap look a lot of the other ones have. :3
