Tobi Cosplay

I'm thinking of doing a Tobi (from Naruto) cosplay. The only problem is that Tobi is a bit overdone. Anyone have any ideas on how I could make the cosplay unique and stand out?

it kinda depends on which outfit you want to go with. most people buy a really cheap atasuki coat off the internet and buy a cheapo mask. it looks horrendous.
i would go the route of making your jacket and making it look good. as far as the mask if you cast it or build it up well as make it really look 3d, it will turn out great.

He has a number of different versions.

Cracked mask, uncloaked to show armor
the hooded cloud cape

And the mask makes a big difference. Most don't sculpt anything but a flat papermache disk to serve ask their mask. It looks MUCH better when sculpted to have ridges and the black lines replaced with gradual shading. The strap behind the head is also really thick, so 4"+ elastic or thick fabric to tie like the headbands. He also wears a mask similar to kakashis that covers his chin, neck, and back of his head from the strap down
