First-time Cosplayer who needs some help!

Hello, friends. My name's Meghan, and thanks to my college roommate and some of our friends, I've finally decided to start cosplaying. A group of us at school have decided to go to a con as characters from Tales of Symphonia, and I'm going to be Lloyd Irving.

Seeing as this is my first cosplay, I have no idea what I'm doing. My cosplayer friends/roommate live 3 hours away. I'm really lost and I don't know how to start, much less complete the costume by August 9th! If anyone has any tips or advice, please let me know!

Hey, Meghan. Welcome to cos.com. It's definitely a good idea to start early, you'll need the time to get it down (and some extra time to procrastinate, if you're anything like me). I'd suggest stopping by this thread to read how to get started, and if you need help on any specific part, just post a question thread in the corresponding forum (fabric craft, props, etc). It's all good.

Constructing : Soren (Fire Emblem), Fox (RWBY)
Upgrading : Sheik (armor), Cloud (wig and armor)

Meghan welcome to cosplay.com, August 9th is still some time out, learning how to sew and turning something out is possible however look around for parts to your cosplay when your out sometimes its easier to piece mean parts
Right now i'm in to greenscreening and rendering animation
