yea Fighter has tonsa armor, no matter which one you're trying to do. the hair is usually the hardest part, some people have a hard time with that. i hope your Cloud costume comes out good , you might wanna check out a good craft foam armor tutorial for any armor he has. i used it to make my terra shoulder armor -

There was a gorgeous Amano painting from the original FFIII that wasn't released in the U.S. printed in the "Dear Friends: Music from Final Fantasy" program book that I've absolutely fallen in love with. Too bad I can't seem to find any information about the game or the characters. (I'm still planning on making the dress though; it's that good ^_^ )

I'm finally revamping my Terra costume from FF6. I wore it 5 years ago, and have been asked to reprise wearing it once more. I also have Rydia and Rosa costumes that I would like to start ^_^

Yo does anyone know where I can find boots for Celes Chere's battle outfit?

And side note: Because of the slits on her pants, does that require me to wear a thong?? *makes a face* Hyne...Sorry that was disturbing.

Thong hmmmm i'll shut up now.

I'm trying to figure out what would be the best materials to use for Clouds shirt and pants, gloves and boots, though i could probly get away with real boots that i can dye dark brown

I found my Celes boots on Zappos.com, and they were at my house the next day. Although they were a bit expensive because I was picky with the design I was looking for.

Unfortunately, unless you want everyone to know the color, material, and brand of your underwear, you're going to have to thong it. I bought one that was the same color as the lacing I used, and it worked like a charm. Plus it nixxes the pantyline factor, which will be one less thing for you to worry about.

Haha so this is the first time I caused something funny in a thread. Well thanks for the tips, Ambrosia cuz yes I'm contemplating a lot of new Amano-type cosplay...

What was the type of the boots you got anyway? *is lost at Zappos*

They were white stilletto knee-highs from Chinese Laundry. Zappos basically features a collection of different brands organized by style, but they have a search option that helps you narrow down what you're looking for.

You could always sew some flesh-colored fabric in between the slits. That what I planned to do if I ever got around to FMV/Amano Celes. (That's not gonna happen this century XD) There's lots of things I will do for cosplay, but one thing I won't do is wear floss in sensitive areas.

Haha, I hope that was PG enough ^^;;.

Thanks ^_^ I'll look into it. However I don't think they have Chinese Laundry boots anymore :P Oh well I'll probably use this one that I saw that looked close to Celes' boots.

Oh yeah... hah hah hah, didn't even think of Terra shoes yet. But I'm going to be too poor for anything other than Payless I'm afraid, especially once I stop beading randomly and actually have to start buying the fabric and trims and cape backing and gaaaaaaah!

At least I find beading somewhat enjoyable and I know my costume will most likely not be completely sucky when I'm done.

Nice Ideas! Any suggestions?

I have finally taken it upon myself to actually plan out a costume. My boyfriend has an Amano Kefka costume in the works. I was going to dress as Baralai from X-2, but I'd really like to match him in some sort of way. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking of Celes, but I don't want to crossplay for my first con. I also thought along the lines of King Edgar, but I'm not sure I could pull that one off well. Anyone wanna throw me a clue as to what might be a better or more original idea?

I've already thought of Tactics or Job Class costumes, but he'd rather imitate specific characters. Help? Please?

=)

The great thing about FFVI is that there are a billion characters. If you're intimidated by Edgar, try a character that doesn't have armor, like Locke or Sabin. Sprite Locke is probably the easiest costume in the history of cosplay XD.
