Oh, and I have a Rydia, too, but it's NOTHING compared the rest I've seen..

It's so cool that people are into the oldschool games.. ^^ They're still my favorites, the ones that came out on the SuperNES. XD I was Rydia for Halloween in like... '91. Yup, certified geek back then, too. FABULOUS!
You know I loves 'em <3

And what is this with you being so hard on your Rydia!? Stop it, I say! Don't make me fly out to CO and whack you upside the head :P

ChaosJack: Are you looking for Amano pics of Eiko or pics from the fmvs?

Blackjack Gabbi: The pictures made the shirt you had on look a purplish-blue.

Chibi Plush Toy: Good luck!

Beverly: Great detail on your costumes! And I second Ambrosia: don't bash your Rydia! It's gorgeous! I'm a sucker for green.

Thanks! XD

Anyhow my plans for it include finding a decent 9and hopefully cheap) hooded raincoat to use to paint the symbols on, may have to figure out how to make the hood stand up like it does in the Amano painting.

White shirt is no problem. the white pants i may find some poofy/baggy white karate pants to use, unless someone else has an inexpensive idea.

The designs on the shirt and pants i'll use fabric paint to paint them on.

No, I think the karate pants are probably the best option short of sewing some yourself, but why reinvent the wheel?

Hmm, as for making the hood stand up, maybe wearing a hat under it? (This is the reference pic you're looking at, right? http://www.uff9.net/ff6/chara/ff6cid.jpg) It would probably have to be more like a stovepipe hat though by the looks of it, or else Cid has a very pointy head!

I don't know, I got nothin'. Anyone else have any ideas?

Hmm... actually a bit of backing on the hood ( Craft foam or wiring will make that stand up. ^^

Can FFIX count also?
I mean... it's back to it's roots and... much more old school then VII and VIII, X-XII.

I'm cosplaying Amano's Amarant for Atomic Comics... then I'll be working on the comstume some more and maybe wear it to AniZona 2 or something.

KaineMaxwell: Thanks for the better pic. It sort of looks to me like he's wearing hightops or at least Keds. If you dyed or painted the majority of the canvas shoes black, then put some red stripes on the toes, they'd look perfect. Red shoelaces aren't that hard to find either.

i guess it can, but it's FF9 nonetheless, and in a sense it isnt really "old school" like the earlier ones. there arent alot of FF9 threads around here anyways, but just as long as it's to a minimum so it can still be called an old-school FF thread lol ;;

w00t!
I see your cosplaying Freiya (in your signature)
how... ....how...???
I mean, that's awesome! Freiya is deffently a fav of mine (Freya, Amarant, and Vivi as playable characters)

Anyways... yea, IMO IX doesn't get much spotlight... and I think it's got something more to do with the new appeal that VII~VIII, X~XII have.
IX is "old school" but not "old school" ya' know?

Anyways... here's my Amarant cosplay so far ^_^
Got pants and boots.
We are having a hard time finding the proper fabric color for the pants... so we just bought $30 pair from a Army Surplus store...
Just so I maybe able to enter Masqurades, we'll probebly find and make the pants... but right now it's rushed to get finished.

Can anyone tell me the rules for winning/enter contests at actual cons?
Like... I know it's gotta be suff you made...
Can anyone tell me, like, how much can be bough and how much can be made?
(I'm still new to cons. AniZona was my first... Expo in July will be my first "real")

IN PROGRESS - We are working on the vest and other leather appearl.
Still trying to figure out what to do about his Tattoos (no good picture references), hair (fro or dreads in Amano's work?), Belts (**** HotTopic for raping there belts with studs... I thought it be a good stoe 'cus I knew that had studs... but... augh I hate that store) and Bracers.
Bonus would be Salamander plushie (that be SO coo :P ), Claw Weapon Props (that be cool...).
