Great work on your costumes everyone! I'm starting to get really excited for the con season!

Chibi Plush Toy: My pants are probably a little different than other people's since they're open at the side seams all the way down to the bottom of the laced-up part and there are tabs at the waist that come around and hook with skirt hooks in the front. The pattern I had had a side zipper on the left side, so I nixed the zipper and left both sides open then sewed some extra fabric around the area where I'd be lacing up to reinforce for the grommets. I sewed ribbon around both edges on both sides, then used a grommet kit you can get at Joanne's, Walmart, etc. For the laces, I just threaded ribbon through the grommet holes similar to how you thread shoe laces and tied them at the bottom. Hope that helps some!

Almost done painting the Cid pants. Think I should try to do the same designs on the opposite side of the pants too? Though I am running low on black this point, white also..ugh. If anything might do the vertical striped lines. Pic coming soon.

bev i love the bodice, it's so sparkly and really pretty ^_^

kawaii the boots and shoulder "armor" looks awesome! i can tell it's gonna be a great Amano Terra already ^_^;;. i looked at an Amano Faris painting and it didn't seem too bad, just lots of random fabric for her sash ;; scary! someday i'll do that, y'arr!

in speakin of Amano i drew my version of Amano Aeris and Tifa today ;;, i don't like how his versions of them are not as creative as the older FFs. it's at my ArtWanted portfolio if you're interested -

Hmm thanks. I guess I'll probably do something like you did but only a little different--i'm not going to do the laceups with grommets i'm just gonna sew the stupid ribbon on!

KaineMaxwell: When you say opposite side of the pants, do you mean the back of each leg or the front of the other leg?

snowkirby: I like your versions of Tifa and Aeris. Ever consider cosplaying them? Guaranteed you'd be the most original versions at any con you go to!

Chibi Plush Toy: Let us know how it works out!

Back of each leg. I was thinking if anything may put the vertical stripes on the back of that leg.

But...

I finished FF6 Cid this morning! All that needs to be done really is touching up the pants somewhat when I buy some white paint later and figure on the book or fishing pole prop.

Hmm, can't seem to get the link to work for me. I'll try again a little later. I think vertical stripes should be fine for the back since there aren't any pictures anyway of him from the back.

Update: I have my sister's permission to borrow her fish for Otakon. Just need to remember not to forget it when I'm packing!

Hey guys...I'm REALLY confused.

Maybe you have noticed this too....butI'm looking at several drawings of amano from different FFs and the characters look the same.

There's on from FFIII that loks just like Butz from FFV, who has same look as the guy on the FF Origins cover...so I have 3 guys who look exactly the same form 3 different games. hah. its messing with me, cuz i would love to do the costume...but i dont want to be mixing characters...

here's the guy from FF3:

here is him again:

Here is Butz riding Hiryuu:

Here is Butz again:

And this is a character from FFII that haws a sword extremely identical to the one's of the other characters...

i'm confused.....
they arenot the same people, i know it...and there are differences, but still.
what do you guys think?

hey zora long time no speak! you have a point there about those characters, but then again i've noticed that some of the characters amano paints look the same ^_^;;. i think that's just how amano happens to paint the faces lol, i guess he concentrates more on the outfit than their facial appearance ::shruggs:: but either way he's still one of my fav painters lol
