Just wanted to share a Final Fantasy VI photoshoot that my friend (mcvarmazi) and I did about a week ago. It was fairly impromptu but a ton of fun XD

I'm working on an original design of a white mage :3

and uh...HOPEFULLY my boyfriend will let me do an original design for a black mage and he'll WEAR IT >:{

I drew him a realy cool blackmage outfit and I want him to make it D:

Mmm, I didn't know a thread like this exsisted, but I cosplay the original Black Mage, and azngirl99 does White Mage with me. My boyfriend was making a Red Mage, and this upcoming weekend is a con so we'll have plenty of pictures. I'm really trying to get all the original classes together, so I'll probably be making my brother into the Fighter or Knight, and then I'll have to hunt down some bodies to be a Monk and a Thief for us!

I'll post again when I get pictures!~ BM

EDIT EDIT: I noticed your post for your white mage design Braithcakes, and was wondering if you still needed help or if it had been addressed. If it has just ignore this, but if I were you I would draw each article of clothing individually, the undershirt, the sweater, the pants, etc. so that you knew how pieces should go together, its a problem if you designed it but you can't put it together right? But I'm not particularly good with designs, so that's really my only advice.

I got started with my Cecil FF4 DS costume. I lightly sprayed dance/swim white fabric with silver just to give it the look in the picture. I'm making the "under-suit" white with blue where necessary. I got this small vacuum forming table from e-bay which should be arriving sometime this week to do the armor construction.

Anyway, I'm trying to get this done before the March 9th Final Fantasy XIII release date to wear it at launch.

hi everyone *is new to thread*
after seeing dissidia, i got interested in cosplaying
the old school FF though i never played any ^^;
i've been eyeballing terra for a while and really want to cosplay her
the biggest challenge is her shoes D: does anyone have any advice?

Most Terra cosplayers I know used either red knee-high boots or red cowboy boots as a base, then slit the front and added the details with craft foam and gold trim (ribbon, piping, bias tape, etc). Because Dissidia Terra's boots are so pointy in the front, you'll definitely need to add the toe. That's the part of the shoe that flexes when you walk, so I would use fabric as a base, maybe with a layer of heavy interfacing under it. You can stuff it with foam to help it keep its shape.

Make sure you use a good glue that can withstand a lot of bending and flexing. I hear Shoe-goo is pretty good as far as that goes, but I haven't used it myself. Hot glue will not work on shoes if you're going to be walking around in them for a con (unfortunately!)

No problem! Good luck ^O^ Shoes are (to me, anyway) the hardest part of the costume, since they are usually the part that gets the most wear. So they have to be tough but also look like the character's shoes at the same time, which can be difficult at times if the character has really fantastical shoes. I actually didn't notice how long the toes of Dissidia Terra's boots were till you pointed it out XD

Hey everyone I'm new to this thread. Im kind of stuck bashing my head in here half way through an amano rydia costume from FF4. My biggest issue is I'm working on the leggings right now ( making them form a stretch jersey) and well nothing for detailing seems to work. I've tried hand made fabric appliques but they look really heavy, I've thought about fabric paint and done some tests with it and it looks like it might work but I'm worried if it will look cheap in execution, i know most people hate fabric paint. I've also considered hand sequining the leggings but I'm just not sure if the time investment in something like that will really be noticed.

Thoughts anyone?

<.< Well I got the pictures up from last months con, we added Red Mage to the crew! Now my older sister and little brother will be joining the Mage's as Thief and Fighter respectively, and another friend of mine said he would make the Monk. Once we have the whole party together it might be time to take some really great pictures...maybe once it snows...

Umaro from FF VI. Okay, not really a class... but a character at least! He is a yeti. Extra points for a blizzard orb. XD Okay, maybe not the sexiest character, but I would totally flip out to see someone cosplay him! *o*

The beastmaster class in both FF5 (Butz, or Galuf) and FF11 wear fur type outfits. Another option would be Berserker class of FF5, again either Butz or Galuf.
