Dirty Bubble- Round Costume Help

Hi! My brother and I are trying to create a Dirty Bubble costume (from Spongebob Squarepants) to go along with our Man Ray costume for AX, but we are having a hard time creating the round shape.

At the moment, we are using a hula hoop as the main base, with two smaller hoops above and below the main hoop, connected with some wire. The costume is held up by the head at the top. Our problem is that we are trying to put the fabric (felt) over the costume, but we cannot get a round shape.

If anyone has any good tips on creating a spherical costume, which covers the wearers head, please let me know! We'd really appreciate it! Thank you!!

Most mascot costumes are made with 2" upholstery foam, no hoops are needed. As the costume is a perfect ball, you can get toy ball patterns commercially (or possibly even free or from a library book) and scale it up to the size you need for your costume.

No hoops in this, just foam & a covering fabric: http://www.trendtimes.com/tomato-adu...FWRp7AodBCQA7w

Free ball tute/ pattern: http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/...ach-balls.html
