Giriko (Soul Eater) Cosplay Gloves Help

Ok, so I plan on cosplaying Giriko from Soul Eater sometime next year and the challenging part of his first outfit are his huge ass gloves. Does anyone have any tips on how to make these gloves without making them look awkward when I try to move my fingers and such?

Here's some pics on what they look like:

Thanks!

hmmm interesting.

First: as I am unfamiliar with this show, are his hands really big? or is it just the perspective of those shots?

Making gloves from scratch isn't too bad, especially if you are comfortable sewing by hand. That will be the easiest way to get the length you need.

If his hands are really big and you need to augment the gloves to show that, I would lightly pad only the back of the hand. Most fur suit critters with hands, the hands are essentially big puffy pillows stuck to the back of a normal human hand. It makes it a little clumsy as your hands aren't a normal size, but you can still function.

For my Slicer TK Baka cosplay, I bought construction/ gardening gloves from a local Home Depot store, and then sewed my own covers over them to give the illusion of bigger hands. You won't be able to say, text on a phone, but you can still use your hands. Covers, even non-stretch are easy to do with proper fitting. I used this to guide me (you'd have to extend the arm of course, maybe add interfacing)- http://www.renaissancetailor.com/demos_gloves.htm
