Getting way to warm!

I have been having a problem lately where when I wear my cosplay wig, even though it is pretty short I get really warm. My face also gets really red....which is definitely not the look I am going for! Any tips on how to stay cool? I'm cosplaying Alois Trancy so long sleeve shirt, binding underneath, vest, and a long sleeve coat... in the middle of June XD

How do you guys stay nice and comfortable?

I don't really as I have thick hair myself but find I usually very arm in my cosplays anyway so I wear full coverage foundation for this reason as my face goes beat red when I'm warm. It's just the price you pay being a cosplayer.

I mean during June-August if my not wearing t-shirt and short I'm over heating.

Backing Ani up-- I don't have thick hair, but wearing my altSheik cosplay out was enough to make me feel like I was burning up. I advise bringing a fan with you and investing in good foundation.

In a costume like Alois's in the summer, make sure to stay hydrated. A damp towel on the back of the neck every now and then is a godsend.
I have a summer undershirt for Drossel where the sleeves is chopped off at the shoulder and the coat has a second white cuff sewn under the coat's. It's a just one less thing, and it makes so much difference.
Good luck.

ah that's a good idea, sewing cuffs onto the jacket sleeves so you don't have to wear long sleeves underneath ^_^

how do you tie up your hair? and if you use a wig cap is it a more solid nylon one or one with a more open mesh? the mesh type with larger holes would be cooler i would imagine, and the way you tie your hair up might make a difference. i have long thick hair and find it gets really hot in the summer. i'm hoping to go for a cut before the con to get it thinned out so it won't be so hot under the wig. it's something i'm worrying about myself. i heard about how brutal the heat was at otakon last year, i'm not looking forward to that.
after watching a few tutorials i'm planning to do my hair up in pincurls, i think it will help vs having it just packed into the cap or braided or whatever, plus will keep it from looking all lumpy. if it's super hot that weekend i'm thinking of pinning it up while it's still damp, hoping that might help keep my head cooler.

though my hair grows crazy fast and i'm not really that fussy about it so if the forecast looks like it'll be crazy hot i might just hack it all off :P it'll grow back. i know that's not a reasonable option for everyone though lol
