Pacific Rim

If anyone is planning to cosplay one of the pilots, or better yet a Jaeger, my day will be made.

But anyway, I was wondering if anyone could help me find a reference picture. My friend and I really want to recreate the pilot jackets that the Becket brothers wear in the beginning of the movie. I know it said Gipsy Danger on the back but that's about it. I can't find any pictures of them anywhere.

Ohhhhh my goodness, I'm already hunting down reference shots of Mako's Jaeger suit.

I've seen so many gifs of the movie already, I'm surprised their screencaps aren't out yet.

loved the movie, thought it was scripted quite nice, its kinda its own niche not a sterotype war or monster movie

im hoping for a prequel

i feel that the jaeger design is simple enough to hopfully inspire some mech cosplayers
that may have been intimidated by gundam, armoredcore designs

the jacket, if pics arnt available yet, you can get a start looking at "bomber" jackets
or ff8 squall jacket, (in denim i think)
hard to find pic cause its only shown in that one scene, then he changes to a generic jacket to
be incognito while hes in working

Already searching for materials and reference shots for the Jaeger suits. For me that's a long term project, never did armor before.
Dat white armor...

Oh it looked so pretty! When I saw it, I was already thinking of what materials would be good for a cosplay.

Me and my friend are planning to do Gijinka versions of the Jaegers. I'm having problems finding a good version of Cherno. =/ Anybody has recommendations?

The RPF has a few threads about the brothers' bomber jackets. The guys over there are going a bit gaga over those jackets.

Has anyone started building a pilot suit? My boyfriend and I really want to make a matching Raleigh and Mako pilot cosplay.

I'd absolutely love to do Cherno Alpha someday. The design is just awesome. I've been wanting to do something with armor or a full suit, and this could be what I decide to go for. Really not sure to go about it, but maybe I'll make it my big project next year since I'll be finishing up my two current cosplay projects here in probably the next month.

Someone at the RPF has 3D modelled the male Gipsy Danger pilot suit, but there's no pepakura files. Looks like these will be scratch builds for a while unless there's some more interest in the costuming.

Were you thinking of trying the Cherno Alpha Jaeger, or the pilot suits? There's also some discussion about the physics of making jaeger costumes and where your body would go inside with stilts, but there's the issue of where your arms fit.

It would be the Jaeger, but I wouldn't be doing mine with stilts. Not really wanting to spend a con hoping the whole time that I don't fall lol
