Exclamation saya takagi weapon advice

hey! Im planning to cosplay as saya from highschool of the dead, and I was wondering if I should carry a weapon. I considered a electric drill since it was her first weapon and her most memborable(imo). I was just hoping to get some more input! if I do pick to use it, should I use a certain kind? how should I create realistic blood pattern on it? any help would be great!

Is such a thing allowed in the convention?

Although it's not a weapon, I'm pretty sure it's more or less agreed upon by all cons that live steel is not prohibited.

I would make a prop drill, not bring a real one.

They're not going to want you to have anything sharp, and it's a liability not only to them, but to you - what if you trip and fall or get pushed and someone gets stabbed or whatever ?

You could potentially gut a real drill and replace the bit, but I think it would be easier to make it from scratch ! I love doing things like weathering and blood spray so that would be fun if it went along with the costume (bloody drill and clean costume might be odd).

I believe that anything with steel is prohibited, and anything that looks like a real weapon or has a solid core base (like wood) has to at least be tagged so everyone knows that its not lethal. It all depends on the con you are attending, you may send them an email in advance about the idea.

OR

Like Kelley said make a prop drill, sure a bit more time and money but not only will you be proud of yourself it will bring less stress in the end to you and the con staff.

Good luck ^_^
