fabric for the dress

i am on a roll with asking cosplay questions today it seems

i just wanted to ask what sort of fabric should be used for sayaka maizono's idol dress

I would go with a plain cotton. or maybe a sparkle dusted cotton. (:

Kona cotton would be a good choice - not as paper thin as quilting broadcloth that's commonly sold at places like JoAnn's, but not as stiff as a "bottomweight" cotton twill.

It looks like it kinda has a sheen to it, though. What about getting some sateen?
