So, I'm going to a con pretty soon, and budget and time are preventing me from doing a super detailed Eleventh Doctor cosplay. Going to this con is a very last minute decision, so I didn't have any cosplay money saved up, or enough time to make it awesome even if I had the cash for supplies. I admit, this is going to be a more or less closet cosplay, although I do have an awfully nice fez
, and I'm borrowing suspenders. It will be pretty accurate, I guess, but not that impressive.
That being said, I want to make it stand out from the inevitable herds of Eleventh Doctor cosplays that I know will be at this con! I have a couple ideas for how to do this.
1. I will make a bunch of the little cubes from "Power of Three" and pass them out.
Pros: I love when people hand stuff out at cons, so this would be fun for me, and others!
Cons: Making all of the cubes, and then having to lug them around the convention
2. I have a plush horse that looks like Susan from "A Town Called Mercy", so I could give it a "Hello! My name is Susan!" name tag and walk around with it.
Pros: It would be pretty cute, and people would probably like to take a picture with Susan
Cons: I would have to drag a fairly large plush horse around the convention center
The negative side to both of these is the fez! Neither episode has the fez in it, but I need the fez to tuck my hair under (which is very long) since I am crossplaying, but don't have a wig, and it would be pretty obvious I'm a girl because of my hair.
Which idea to you prefer? Do you have any other ideas that could work?
