No one kill me, but my parents actually bought my car... the only things I have to pay for is dates with my girlfriend, cosplay, video games, and figures....
I have spent (and am about to spend) about 400 dollars on a suit before (because I do Dye sub suits, which are the same type of thing that they used to make the suits in the Spider Man movies).
I'm surprised, I've just now started on my first Kingdom Hearts cosplay (Vanitas.... FYI, that's the one I'm about to spend 400 dollars on....) and Keyblades are not expensive to make! wood is pretty cheap actually, and DAS clay isn't too bad either....
I don't really feel too bad about how much I spend, I'll be honest.....

I always feel bad about how much I spent (especially since I live alone, I feel like I've been tranformed into Scrooge McDuck or something), but in the end, I'm always glad that I make the costumes myself and save a whole lot of money still. I guess my most expensive costumes so far are around 150-200 €, but I would've paid at least twice as much if I asked someone to make them for me, so it's a pretty good deal.

But well, as long as my cosplay doesn't eat up all the money I need for living, I guess it's fine ^^

I honestly don't know. I typically buy too much of things when it's really not necessary, like fabric and extra sizes for the same pattern because I used to guess what my sizes were when buying them. Not anymore though, of course. But I think a lot about what I could have done with all that extra money I wasted... :/
(I hopefully don't do this much anymore, though)

I feel ashamed about the wigs I bought for my costume only to have few people recognize me when I wear them compared to my "hat" version. The money spent on the wigs would of covered them.

I don't feel bad. I use to have hobbies that rivaled the cost of cosplay anyway. I've just replaced them with this one. Besides, I have plenty of disposable income that can go towards soimething that I enjoy, so I don't see the harm in it.

I still have money to pay my bills and do what I need to do, so it's not like I'm going into debt from cosplay.

Not ashamed. Never ashamed to spend money on something like cosplay. Concerned and guilty that I could've gone for a cheaper cloth/ material but I bought the more expensive one anyway, Yes. =p

Money spent on cosplay is money well spent.

Nope, I'm not ashamed. My bills all get paid, and my money isn't going to cosplay when it should be going somewhere else. So nope, I feel no guilt whatsoever.

I only feel bad when I buy something and figure out that I don't need it/was a lower price elsewhere. But ashamed? Never.
I used to live in Japan. Questions? Message me on my Facebook page

Before I did when I was still a college student as the money needed could have been put for something else, but now... I do not. (Besides, nowadays I budget just a little bit better xP). But never ashamed. No matter how many friends and family that tells me to stop using so much money for cosplay, or blames my cosplay for not having enough money for something.
