Strappy Shoes

Hello everyone! Lately, I've been running into a lot of problems with shoes such as these: http://i39.tinypic.com/29ktnc2.jpg

I've been able to find decent standard pumps as base shoes as well as ribbon to match. However, every time I try and create the criss-cross effect with the ribbon, it ends up not staying in place while I'm walking around the convention centre. I've tried pinning it to my socks, taping it to the shoe, and even wrapping it around my foot, but it just doesn't seem to stay. The only thing I haven't tried is hot glue, because I'm worried that the ribbon won't sit properly if it's not shaped to my foot.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might help my ribbons stay up? Or something else I can try instead of ribbons even? Any help would be much appreciated.

Make sure it's tied firmly. You're wearing them over socks? You could glue them directly (though you'd need to wear them (and put a piece of cardboard between you and the sock so the hot glue doesn't burn), or if you're wearing them without socks you could try double sided tape?

usually when they are made like that, there are "d" rings on each side of the shoe to lace them through and it just crosses in the middle. if u dont want the rings to show, id glue them to the inside of the shoe.

Ohhh, I can't believe I didn't think of that, but I think that will work perfectly!

Thanks so much for the responses!
