Last year there definitely was - but, yeah, I don't remember the details. We walked to the aquarium, and took the shuttle back.

Sorry, but it looks like I won't be making the Aquarium shoot due to scheduling conflicts.

Is there another shoot for Bioshock, My costume doesn't permit me to walk much or be able to fit in a shuttle.

Songbird doesn't fit in Shuttles or walking from the hotel to the aquarium. I also have wings that are not Aquarium friendly.

Maybe have a gathering for the less mobile costumers? Maybe just bioshock Infinite?

There's a Bioshock group that's going to be in the parade (including a float, I think). I don't know if I'll be around for that, though - last year I slept way too late Saturday morning. You might be able to meet up somewhere after the end of the parade (not right at the end; that's super crowded).

Cool, I'm pretty sure we will be around Saturday in the afternoon for the Bioshock panel.

Hey All, how would we feel about a BioShock shoot at Hardy Ivy Park after the parade around like 12:30 since some folks arent wearing their stuff to the aquarium? is that enough time for folks in the parade to get over there?

Yeah, there's a shuttle. http://www.dragoncon.org/?q=shuttle_buses

Between me, my boyfriend, and his friend, we've got 3 Splicers, but I'm not sure we'll be at the Aquarium by 8 for the group shot. The one panel that I want to do above all others goes until 8, and while I'm willing to leave it a little early (7:15-7:30), we'll be taking the shuttle down so assuming we can catch the 7:30ish shuttle, we'll hopefully be there right at 8.

If you all could find it in your hearts to hold off til 8:30 for the group shot, you'll have a few Splicers! Otherwise we'll just do with individual shots, as I don't want to be "that person".

The parade depending on size doesn't end at 12:30, after the parade there is a high number of people moving through out the hotels and the parade route. At this point a few BioShock Infinite cosplayers will be at the panel Saturday at 5:30 in the Hilton ( I believe). I'm afraid that Songbrid isn't a costume I can really move about in to much. I'm pretty sure elevators are going to be a nightmare for me.

Yea that's why I was thinking somewhere outside since elevators are probably going to be awful for anyone in any big costumes. Would a different time work better for post parade? It sounded like it should be done around 11:30 so I was thinking give some time for people to get around and let crowds disperse. Are you thinking an earlier or later time would work better for post parade? Or are we thinking just don't bother?

I don't know how long the parade lasts, but if it starts at 10 then I would expect maybe an hour (tops), then another hour or so for crowds to start to clear.

12:30 is going to be hot. I don't mind the heat, but I won't be the one in a full heavy costume.
Or, it might rain. Who knows? I'll shoot in the rain, my gear is weather resistant ... and one of my all-time favorite photos was taken in the rain.

Last year I missed the parade. We were staying far off-site, and didn't even try to drive in until well after the parade. (also, stayed up way too late Friday night)

I think I'm still going to try for a photoshoot a little bit after the parade, for those who can't make it to the aquarium. It might wind up being pretty informal, but I have to at least get tn_scotsman's two Motorized Patriots.

Hardy Ivy Park has a Resident Evil shoot right after the parade, but I've chatted with the organizer (patcave aka Patrick Sun) and he's willing to share. It's big enough for two groups one the crowds clear out a bit.

I know we all signed releases for Irrational Games, do we have any idea of when they might post some highlights to their site? Or if they're even going to end up doing that? I'd love to see us and maybe a write-up about the group.

I don't know. I sent them my photos last Friday, and followed up this Tuesday to make sure they had what they needed from me; they said they were working through them.

I'm anxious too!

For those who haven't seen them, my sets are posted on our facebook page, I've got a few different albums for DragonCon sets:

and on my Flickr (click on Sets, and Dragoncon 2013):
