Hum, you should probably ask on their message board.

But I seem to remember them being real mean about people bringing anything that slightly resembles a real weapon (giant boomerangs notwithstanding)

The weapon rules at AN are kinda confusing.

I watched many people get wooden weapons taken away, yet I saw many people walking around with other wooden weapons and Bokuto's, yet they had no problem with them.

Maybe it all depends on the degree of dangerousness the weapon has, as for a cap gun I doubt there would be a problem, unless there was a report of someone threatening a person with one (saying it was real) and I doubt they would allow you to shoot the caps.

But frankly I have no idea. I agree with ThrustPuppy, head over to the Teahouse and ask Heki ^^;

Oh, and if you do that girl from Groove Adventure RAVE (forget her name) you might want to ask them if you're allowed to have those erm.. stick thingies which's name I forget also lol.

And they almost took my rifle, on the account that I was going to "bump" into someone with it. They let me keep it only because I slinged it against my back, which made walking even more difficult.

This versus American cons, where you're basically either in a forest of bokkens, a replica sword convention, or a NRA meeting. Sometimes all three.

Luckily I'm making a character who fights with his fists.

My idea of doing Cloud (my DREAM cosplay) for AN04 might be difficult, because I would make my Buster Sword something to fear! Muwahahaha! =D

Ah crap, I just made a wooden sword that's about 4 feet altogether and its sharp, I mean like I accidently cut myself with, I don't mean a small scratch either. It hurt.

Anyway, Would I have to sand down the edges until its pretty dull?

thx in advance (unless no one reply's)

not necessarily^_^
if u have a sheath for it, and u keep it inside the sheath (unless ur on stage during the masq or at a photoshoot somewhere) the security people shouldnt hav a problem...its just gotta be "peace-bonded" at all times. and...dunt bring it inside the artroom..dealersroom...or the dance.

but they do hav a problem against wood in general ;_; it sucks...
so hmm......they mite confiscate it...not sure...ur gonna hafta check with them directly^_^

Ne winnie!
What if the capguns are kind of metal-ish and look semi-real ?
Is it only plastic that is allowed?

well i talked to the security person and he said that it *MUST* be veryvery obvious that the gun is a toy (ie: bright colours etc)
bcuz if it even resembles a real one just a little tiny bit they can confiscate it. n thts no fun ;_;
