Try to incorporate the gun/prop into a lot of your poses. I hate when cosplayers have amazing props but they stretch out their arm away from themeselves while holding it. Try a lot of canon poses she makes, whatever you do, please don't do the overdone "Lets place the gun between my legs while I'm on my knees holding the barrel" Pose. It's over done and gets annoying...Try looking like she's taking a break, have the gun propped on your arm and lean against the wall. Look like you've just taken out somebody with the biggest grin on your face, and don't worry about trying out facial expressions in the mirror! Pose, learn how to walk around with the wig and see if you can create in-motion pictures.

Some of the best things to remember though, is not to bundle up. Stretch out your neck when you make pictures, arch you back up and head held high. Most importantly; have fun!

I think I might know the main problem here. You are either posing to what you THINK should be a Yoko pose (some poses work for some people, others don't), or you are looking up poses from the actual anime..Have you looked up Yoko COSPLAYERS? I do this. A lot of anime posed are impossible for real people, so looking up how real people are posing is a good way. Also, do you have a full body mirror? If not you can get one at walmart for like $7..This will help you a TON..If you have enough room, you can practice just about any pose This way you will be able to see what your face looks like too. Practicing in front of a mirror will be the best practice you can get. If you can't get a mirror, ask a family member or friend to take pictures of you in cosplay posing in the house or something. This way you can see exactly what you need to change BEFORE the convention rolls around.

Hope this helps you
