Renn Faire Help Needed

My 6 year old son wants to dress up when we go to the NY Renn Faire this year. I have never tried to make a costume before, but he says he doesn't want a "cheap" Halloween costume, he wants to be a real knight/prince (depends on the day).

After doing some research online on Elizabethan England I have pretty much figured out how to make him a costume that requires as little sewing as possible. The question is: would this be acceptable and somewhat historically accurate?

I figure I can just modify a cheap store bought white shirt to lace at the wrists, modify some pants to lace just below the knee, pair with white stockings and make a doublet (the hard part). Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Vor

Works for me. Renn Faires really don't have standards (like, at all) for historical accuracy so just focus on what your kid wants and will be comfortable in without driving you nuts.

Historically accurate at all? Nope.

Historical accuracy required for Renaissance Festival patrons? Nope.

If it makes the kid happy that's really all that matters.
