You know what I think women geeks are starting to throw out Male Geeks and Otakus and keep them in the basements.

You know what I think? I think you like to post inflammatory statements that are barely coherent and then never follow them up.

You know what I think your schtick is getting old. Convincing everyone to hate your shit is a good way to make sure you're right about everyone hating your shit. You make me tired, kid.

EDIT: Sam, if we were in the old west I'd be bleeding out on the ground right now. You have the superior kung fu technique.

I don't think she was telling people not to wear revealing cosplays, period. She seemed concerned about the influence that one other cosplayer, Jessica Nigri I think her name was, was having on her friend, Miss Steampunk Poison Ivy.

Nigri came across as kind of a one-trick pony- a lot of her cosplay shots seemed to focus mainly on boobs, and her costumes seemed to be chosen specifically to show them off. It didn't seem that craftsmanship was as much of a priority for her.

Yaya wanted her friend to keep up her standards of craftsmanship, instead of relying solely on sex appeal. So basically, sex appeal is fine, just have good workmanship and skills to back it up. I think that's what Yaya was trying to convey.
Unfortunately her friend didn't seem to get the hint- her costume showed camel toe, which shouldn't have happened. And on stage, her character acting fell flat, which didn't help either.

Alas, it's a misogynistic world out there, can't seem to escape it even among the geeks that are supposed to be "different" and alternative. lol
Considering you're one of the biggest gamer girls I know, you don't have to prove it to me

I'm pretty sure what she specifically said was that she shouldn't and didn't have to prove it to anybody, you included.

Yeah, I am aware of that. I was just trying to be funny. Serria is an old friend of mine so yeah. I know I didn't add anything to the topic at hand though so I am sorry about that.

Good to hear from you again, man!

I also think there's a difference between wearing costumes that are revealing, and wearing costumes for the sake of being revealing. I mean, if Yaya meant choose costumes that show off your skills rather than JUST your body, especially if you're in a costume contest that totally makes sense, and I see her point. But at the same time I don't think anyone has the right to judge any woman for wearing whatever she wants to wear. If you want to wear super revealing costumes and it makes you happy, good for you, go for it.

Why would I want an otaku in my basement?

Please try to de-troll yourself for the sake of your mental wellbeing.
I know you're not trying -or maybe you are- to troll but first it was the "everyone on this show should die" and now this. I'm starting to think you just want attention.

Or maybe you think it's funny, well, not a lot of people share your humor then.

I loved the girl who did Lydia from Beetlejuice, she seemed so excited! One thing I don't like about this show is how the cosplayers rarely seem happy to be cosplaying. I do like Becky though, I thought her scene with the little Belle as Merida was cute.

Also i think anyone could still have "the love of the character" and still showcase and get money off it. But that's really my take on it.
I agree.
