Question How to be a character (from a different time period) in casual ware ?

i want to cosplay as nyo (fem) Austria for Hetalia day, but i will not have enough time to make/buy a cosplay by then. So i want to go in something she would where but not her actual clothes. And since her clothes are from a different period in time i do not know how to go about this.......
what she looks like http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/hoshi...6_original.png

and Austria wheres cloths like this. http://hetalia.kitawiki.net/images/a...striaChibi.png,http://hetalia.wikia.com/wiki/Unifor...le=Austria.png , http://hetalia.wikia.com/wiki/Unifor...s_War%2529.PNG

i was thinking of wearing a vest, shirt and skirt (then i realized that the skirt was way to short for the time period (about half way down my thigh) and probably shorter than i want to ware

even if anyone has any ideas for a modern nyo Austria that would be a great help

thank you to any one who reads any of this

Unfortunately, modern day fashions are pretty similar in most industrialized nations, you cannot tell a teen on the street in NYC from one in London or Hamburg or Amsterdam.

How much time do you actually have? a classic peasant blouse and skirt is pretty easy to make, even a beginner could make that in one full Saturday.

I'm a wee bit confused. If you do not have time to make or buy anything and you do not have any clothes that work... I'm wondering what else is there to suggest ?

I will second that you could easily make a simple skirt in a day, even as a first project.
