Skyrim Forsworn Weapons

So im in the process of making my forsworn armour for Supanova next year the only problem i'm having is how i'm actually gonna make the weapons. I'm thinking i'm probably gonna go with 1 or 2 of the axes but i have no idea how to make them. I've never made any weapon before so this is a first. I'm also having trouble on how to make the horns for the wig/headpiece/whatever it is. Any help would be great thank you <3

The horns I would make from PVC foam and apoxie sculpt. Pretty much just like Tryndamere's horns on his helmet. Here's how I made mine:

As for the axe I'd cut the silhouette of the base axe from wood, then carve it to shape using an angle grinder or orbital sander. Once the base is down sharpen some dowels using your sander of choice and glue them there for effect. Apply twine or some other rope/string as needed. GL!

For the weapon-y axe thingy, you could use insulation foam or wood for the "stone" piece..which you can easily make look weathered and "stone like" with painting techniques..Then honestly you can use actual wooden doweling and carve it to look more pointed. Obviously you don't want to make it something that's actually a sharp point or anything, but you can get close. I used a pocket knife and about a half hour of my day once to do it for a handle to jam into a sword.

I have actually made this exact thing! For the base, I used a piece of cardboard vaguely cut into the proper shape. Then, I layered paper mache because I really wanted it to look like a craggly rock with polished edges. After that, it was all about the paint job. I actually made a really long post about my costume on my blog here if you want some ideas for materials. I don't know if my way was the best, but it may help you get started! http://hot-uncle-unalaq.tumblr.com/post/54270942513 (warning: making the headpiece is quite a task)
