There's a Nui now. No wig yet, though. I have to admit, I'm sort of looking forward to seeing what the commercial one ends up looking like...

Anyway finally found the cosplayer I was talking about long ago.

Pretty sure it doesn't look like she used the half skirt/shirt thing. https://www.facebook.com/tattocospla...type=3&theater

How she explains it. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...39937& type=3

Luck to all. I kind of stopped watching. ^^;

But the only thing scaring me her is her cannon hat thing.....it's like...where do I even start?! O_O

But maybe next year I'll cosplay as Ryuko when she's wearing Senketsu!

Edit:

I actually started working on my wig for Nonon But I need to buy another wig because I need to use the wefts to fill in the spots that showing the wefts and so I can also make this wig into a better ponytail. :P

Hoping to do either a Ryuko or Satsuki costume! It would be my first cosplay so I'm hoping it isn't too difficult...

Ryuko's definitely simpler than Satsuki, but they're both somewhat complicated in their normal outfits. Do you have any sewing experience? (I'm a big proponent of cosplaying whoever you want regardless of skill level because with enough time and effort I think anyone can look good, but you should know what you're getting into.)

I have a tiny bit of sewing experience (I took art in school so we had to sew some parts of things by hand and machine) so I would know how to work the basics of a sewing machine. I heard that Japanese school uniforms were one of the easiest things to sew for a beginner, but obviously Ryuuko's has a few extra parts and the wig styling that might make things more complex.

Sounds like I'll be doing Nonon eventually! I was talking to some friends last night, and it looks like we've managed to pull together a full student council group!

Hmm, yeah now that I'm thinking a little harder Ryuuko shouldn't be all that difficult. As a beginner I'd DEFINITELY go for her before Satsuki. I don't think her hair is too difficult, though. Just rough up a dark blue/black wig a bit and add the red streak.

Finished all the major sewing on Ryuuko's jacket. http://instagram.com/p/l0bOikxVS5/

I'll add the designs and buttons and paint the white stripes another time but for now I'm pleased with it! The pockets are fake though. I tried to make pockets but it looked awful so I gave up lol. Lucky, my mistake is easily covered up.

Idk if I'll actually cosplay her this year, but I really like her jacket so I decided to make it since I had enough fabric.

Hmm, I really like Ryuko's outfits and Senketsu a lot, but I feel like I wouldn't suit her well.
On the other hand, Satsuki would probably suit me since she's so tall and hasn't the most feminine face.
But I don't care much for Junketsu since it's white..

But then in a later episode Satsuki wears Senketsu so I was wondering if it would be weird to cosplay that version? Or would it be interesting to see since it's more unusual?
I just don't feel like doing something that would look questionable I guess.

You should totally do it! I was thinking about doing that in the future! ( I was actually also thinking about getting my sister to cosplay as Mako when she's wearing Senketsu xD )

Looks like I have a con coming up in August so I think I might have some motivation to make a Ryuko costume!
I have no idea where to start but I have a while to think things over and decide what fabrics to use, how to go about it and things like that.

I'd be super cool to see some cosplays come out of the episodes where Senketsu was getting passed around basically the entire main cast. I always like to go for something a little out of the box when it comes to cosplay, so I say go for it. Speaking of out of the box, I'm now ridiculously tempted to make Nui's rainbow mecha life fiber monstrosity arms from the most recent ep... The ads on the side of the forum saying "make your cosplay glow!" are not helping!

Totally understand that. I'm also way too ambitious than my bank account can handle.

To stay on topic, I want to be a bit more creative for the next con I go to. I did a episode 1 Ryuuko at Anime Boston last weekend and I noticed a lot of Senketsu Ryuukos walking around. I wanted to do Senketsu Ryuuko, but I have major body issues. I still want to do it, since I love Ryuuko and I want to get over my insecurities with standing out enough.
