: Where do people get all those really nice photos of their costumes at the convention? Are there photographers there or something? Where are they?
There are plenty -- tons, even -- of people taking pictures, but it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be able to get your hands on their pictures. Some photographers create galleries on the web and post a link to them at the boards (especially the official AN board). You might find yourself there. Some have a friend take pictures with their camera. And so on.
Anime North will have a photography room which should be staffed most of the time. IIRC, it will be located in the center of the South wall (the long wall with no exits) of the TCC. Feel free to come have your picture taken there. When we're not in the photography room, we'll be around. There will be 3 or 4 photographers with AN staff badges labeled photography crew (or something like that), incl myself
. Bother us! That's what we're there for. We're not pros, but we have experience at taking con photos (see above links), we have good digital cameras (4MP = 2272x1704 in my case, way more than needed for prints) and tons of disk space for pictures (20GB in my case).
I will be placing a poster at the photography room listing known photoshoots and allowing people to add to the list.
