There's no rule saying you can't attend in a non-anime/j-rock/egl/video game or thus inspired costume. Star Wars costumers frequently appear at anime cons across the country. It's a bit out of place, but hey, do what you want. ^_^

*edit - Hey! I almost forgot to add: Wasn't there an official Star Wars manga? If anyone gives you lip just give them that little bit of info~
Best Wishes,

There were Star Wars cosplayers last year at Fanime, and I got pics of them:

(The tie-fighter pilot was our friend who sadly passed away in October, Chanel AKA Padme Skywalker.. )

But since they showed up last year, there's no rule saying that Fanime disallows Star Wars cosplay, so if you want to wear a SW costume at Fanime this year, I'll take pictures.

Of course it's allowed. There were a few last year. But don't be surprised if you get a bunch of elitists yelling at you about how you don't belong there because you're not from an anime. But you'd probably get a lot more people saying how great you look and taking your picture. I say people should wear whatever they want.

Go for it! As Eurobeat King said, the 501st had people there last year and they had a blast. They are planning to go again this year since they had so much fun. Yeah and anyone who gives lip this year is probably gonna get a smackdown from JC (snow trooper in the back). ^_^

I heard that star wars don't do cospaly, I heard that from a friend from college, I saw a few star wars cosplayers last year, theres nothing bad about it, I wouldn't mind seeing some more star wars cosplayers at fanime this year so yeah why not bring some more star wars cosplayers.
