Pics of Gurlukovich Soldier setup. Bad lighting, in hindsight should've opened windows. But oh well:

Still waiting on the helmet (which hopefully should stop the shifting around of the balaclava) and the gloves, and need to make the big 'ol exclamation point (need to find some thin wires or something to hold it over my head). That's about it for this month or so. Eventually need to get the right belt and suspenders, but plenty of time for that later.

MGS3 is going to be absolutely amazing. I wonder what's up with the Raiden lookalike, Kuwabara.
Yeah... I really want to see what that's about, too... The end of the E3 trailer was pretty interesting >_> ... Hehe.

I cosplayed as Meryl at ACen last year, but sadly I have no pictures of it at the moment, which is teh sad.

I *love* your Snake cosplay, Cherry... It's wonderful. Snake is probably one of my favorite characters ever and I think you did an amazing job with it!

I wouldn't mind cosplaying as Sniper Wolf one day... I wonder how many people would actually recognize that costume if I wore it to a con... ; P

Bleh, I must say it kind of bugs me how they Matrix-ized Metal Gear Solid with Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. I mean, a little here and there would've been okay, but every single cutscene? And probably my favorite part of the MGS3 trailer was when Big Boss said to Ocelot, "You're not suited for an automatic anyhow. You tend to twist your elbow to absorb the recoil. That's more of a revolver technique." Now we know how he became known as Revolver.

Thank you, Mizuho and JacksUsername. xD I worked really hard on the costume. ::Cheer:: I don't know. Snake is my hero. He's such a sarcastic jerk. Not to mention, being in that costume makes you wanna roll around and stuff and shoot at people.

At A-Kon, I'm making a backpack full of accesories. xD I have dynamite, cigarettes, porn mags (Yes, that is actually an item in the game), magazines, ropes, medicine, etc. XD I shall take pictures sneeking up on Otaku.

Sniper wolf is so pretty. Though I think in MGS Twin Snakes someone seriously needs to consult her on that green lipstick.

"Sounds like a spy movie!"

Everyone-anyone know where to find some good screenshots of the Twin Snakes game where it shows Mantis? I'm sure he looks all more detailed now and it would be easier to work off of.

"Sounds like a spy movie!" is quite possibly the coolest line in any video game ever. Period.

IGN.com usually has a good collection of screenshots. I dug up most of my Gurlukovich soldier images off of there.

Took the liberty of digging up some images. You might find one or two useful:

And sorry, I'm not going to A-kon. Too bad, because as Jack said, your Snake costume's pretty darn cool looking. The vest is especially a nice job (the 'bulletproof' padding was definately a nice touch). If I'm not mistaken, those painful crotch-strap thingies you mention are supposed to be for rappeling. There's your random fact of the day.

Anyhow, got gloves:

Helmet should come in sometime next week. Also need to tape a flashlight or a laser unit to the AK prop, put up the red exclamation mark (finally found something to perhaps hold it in place.), and adjust the balaclava a bit (darn thing keeps shifting around on me). And these pull-on boots are terrible. And I think I've babbled long enough for one post.

What cons ARE you planning to go to? Maybe I'll be at one of them?

Thank you so much for the compliment. I really did do a lot on that costume.

I really enjoyed the padding, too. It gave it a little more life than what a flat vest would have. Thank you for clearing up the crotch straps. I was trying for a long time to figure out why Snake would have those, and eventually gave up figureing I didn't want to know.
