AN Cosplays 2017

What's the plan for next year? What are you leaning towards? Need some inspiration? Let's chat!

Let's see, I am going to attempt not one... but TWO scalemaille things.
1. Captain Canada - like the older style captain America but Canadianized. The top portion is scalemaille but will require me to attempt leather/vinyl work, making cargo-ish pants, a shirt, gloves, boots, and the iconic shield. HA what have I gotten myself into?!

2. Scalemaille Flareon - going to be used for Costume-con too. It is based on a scale/chainmaille dress and will have an underdress (perhaps wedding style ish) with chainmaille on top. There will be a mask component as well. My brother says "I will need a fire sword because swords make everything better". I don't agree to that yet... I want to use engineered plastic scales for this one, but that is if I can get the scales in the yellow colour I need.

It all depends on the dollar now as I want to make a large order for the gyarados... to make a tail...

I'll be rewearing my planned CostumeCon costume on at least the Friday (Anastasia's end-of-movie princess dress), sueezing a slightly revamped Tali'Zorah in somewhere, and planned for, though not 100% certain, Heather from Dragons: Race to the Edge. Don't need to start on her til fall and she may be too hot for AN's usual weather so that one's certainly possible to be changed this early on.

At LEAST I will have De-infested Kerrigan done. Perhaps bring Freya (The Huntsman: Winter's War) as well depending on weather.

I've actually started my props because I'm in cosplay withdrawal. lol

But I'm planning on finishing Draculaura Victorian origin design.... I have the 5" platforms boots as well. lol

As for other ones I'll most likely bring older costumes.

I'm not 100% on anything yet but I really kinda want to make Olivier Armstrong from FMA:B and maybe bring back Gentiana (FFXV) or Daisy... assuming I can go next year

I like it! Cool idea. I hope I get to see that.

For me, I'd like to [finally] make Zaka from the original Valkyria Chronicles video game. Those Gallian uniforms look really cool and Zaka being a tank driver means not having to make or carry a weapon prop around.

Thanks! I saw a Captain Mexico so Captain Canada is not much of a stretch.

Valkyria Chronicles has amazing costumes! That would be one I would like to see!

Ordered Flareon scales since the dollar rose lol.

I think my brother/sister-in-law want to do some sort of Blizzard/Heroes of the Storm group, so I'll probably end up as some form of Jaina. Kind of really tempted to do her Winter Veil skin, even though I know it will be crazy hot.

I want to revamp Terokk somewhat and add armor as well, but who knows when that will happen/when it will be worn.

Definitely Tama from Gintama. I had actually wanted to cosplay her this year but the wig I ordered/commissioned was way too small for my head and I realized it too late to fix it or order a another one. The actual costume itself is ready to go (might tweak it a little with the extra time I have now), so it's just the wig I need.

Also, Houzuki-gami from the 4th season of Natsume Yuujinchou. I tried to convince my friend to try for Fuzuki-gami, but she's more interested in Madara (oh well, close enough!).

Heheheeee. My boyfriend actually said he was totally into being a Windshear to go with my Heather! I just have to keep it fairly casual. I guess I'll do a hoodie-type costume for the main body, with a detachable tail and wings and "sit" on him for photo poses. And he also wants me to make him an Undertale costume for next year too (I haven't played it yet, plan is to start soon, I've had the game for months and been too busy, sooo I don't know the name of the character in the two pics he showed me yet. He REALLY REALLY REALLY takes "no spoilers" strictly).

....hooo, boy, flex those sewing muscles. My spring is going to be absolutely frantic. I've already started on CostumeCon's and on making a new artist-alley-compatible costume for fall, and Heather gets properly started in a few months. Plus other things like moving, handmade Xmas gifts, ramping up my freelance sewing work for the extra income as a result of the moving/maybe getting a "normal" part-time job if that's not quite bringing in enough, and doing artist alley at cons in November and December (and Ad-Astra in May). That's why I'm sewing like mad right now! ...holy crap I need to go to BED. I get so damned rambly at 1:30 am.

^^ being gamers ourselves (bro and I), we are not going to get into the hype of undertale. I have read all about it, heard the music was good, not my type of game..... doesn't sound entertaining at all. But that's my opinion.

My brother doesn't like my flareon design because flareons are too over done he says.... He wants me to change it into a Delphox. Not a fan of Delphox... not a huge fan of fire pokemon in general.
