Cool Assassin from Ragnarok, tips appreciated

Ragnarok is a manga, online game, -and- animated series now, so I think this particular forum is a good place to post this. =p

Anyway... yeah ok. I'm going to be (or try to be) a male assassin this coming AX. Some reference pictures: http://iro.ragnarokonline.com/game/jobassassin.asp has both an official artwork of it, and a rotatable sprite from Ragnarok Online.

I was thinking I'd get some sort of tight purpleish short sleeved t-shirt, and wrapping fabric around it. Not sure how I'm going to make the shoulder pads. I think I'm going to have a little trouble with the pants and shoes. The pants are semi-tight, and as you can see the crotch region is much shorter than on most men's pants in stores (there's usually a lot of extra room there, I don't know why). And I'm not very big either, waist is like 26-27 inches, the in-seam on typical pants that fit me is like 30-32 inches I think. I've been in a couple shoe stores and haven't been able to find any shoes that remotely resemble the kind he wears.

I plan to visit some thrift stores as soon as I can.. If possible I'm interested in finding some articles of clothing that are the right size and shape, and then I can perhaps dye them to the right color. I'm not too keen on making my own pants/shirts etc. I tried that last year.. lol.

Any tips and suggestions will be very much appreciated.

i didn't even pay attention to his shoes, and when it comes to ro characters, i think people mostly pay attention to the upper body and upper garments. i'd definitely recommend using bandages also. he didn't have tight pants on or anything, but he still looked very cool as an assassin. i think you can just alter things around to what suits you best.
