PMX Masquerade
Hi everyone,
We just arrived home today (sooo tired >.<...zzzz ) so I haven't had a chance to do much yet. I'll post a list of the winners in this thread (as well as on the PMX boards) tonight. I'll also e-mail all of the winners about where to send their checks and/or prize packs. If you won a prize and you don't hear from me by Friday (06/04) evening, please send me a PM or an e-mail ( masquerade@PacificMediaExpo.com ). It sounds like the checks/prizes are going to arrive in about a month... thanks for your patience. Our financial person has to calculate all of our expenses/income at the con and she's just overwhelmed at the moment and would like to send out checks after she's finished the bulk of her post-con work. Thanks everyone for a wonderful Masquerade; so many great skits and costumes! I was really impressed. Special thanks to Sailor Jamboree, the Karaoke Winner (Stephanie), and Rhianne (No Need for Cosplay!) for sharing their work for special performances! ![]() Thanks also to Claire (for her great work on the J-Rock panels and at Masq)! Thanks to our judges: Wayne, Hai, Debbie, and Max for all their hard work! Judging takes a lot of time and they did a fantastic job. And, of course, HUGE kudos to our Masquerade staff who worked their butts off as usual: Chris (music specialist), Carmelo, Rich, Casey, Keys, Steve, and Darryl! more later after a few more cups of coffee ^-^ Marisa PMX Masquerade Coordinator Last edited by AngelJibrille : 06-03-2004 at 12:47 PM. |

Um.. There's something I wanna point out.. ^^; I noticed that, my skit included, all of the music was being faded in and out.. @_@ Our skit needed the music from the beginning, so having it start late threw us off a bit. I noticed it in other skits too. =/
I really loved participating, though, and can't wait for PMX next year. ^_^ |

This is my first time of doing the Masquerade without my regular V-Tech staff (from Anime Expo) so although we tried to explain in advance what we wanted, it didn't click because I think both Tech and our own Masq staff were exhausted at that point. For example, the group number, name, and intro were supposed to be read before the music started, but sometimes they started the music during that intro. I went over there and tried to facilitate for the second half of the Masquerade, but there were still a couple of snafus @_@Hopefully this will all smooth out next year it's difficult doing my first "first year" con with new staffers and all. Thank you everyone for being so patient, especially when "secret secret" couldn't be found :/ (long story there)Many hugs and thanks and I hope to see you all next year ^-^ -marisa |

Yay for Marisa!
I totally understand that this was the 1st con so that there were going to be problems. From doing so many shows and performing at so many cons, I come to expect it. The only techincal issues we had were that the mics were not all on for the 1st song, and they were turned on very low throughout the entire performance as well as the music, which was a change from rehearsal which the mics were very hot and the music very loud. But it's okay, we compensated by singing louder. ^^; Anyway, I think this was probably one of the smoothest 1st masquerades ever thanks to the very accomadating staff. ![]()

Yes! I was so nervous how my first time skit and its sound editing I did for our skit will turn out but thx to the staff, it turned out very well.
We also didnt have to wait for 10 min. to just to wait for groups that didnt show up either (why do those things happen in other masq?, sorry first time to enter into masq so) With this year's experience I learned several things not to do and to do for future Masq skit planning. Thnx for Marisa and PMX staff for putting it together.

I just send out the "form" mail to everyone who won. I'm glad everyone had a great time. It was a lot of fun for us too, though it was very diffrerent from usual I think it's fun to be helping start a "new" con (this is our second one this year, we also did a fairly new Masq at Boston).I guess I should note here (for the general cosplayers): IF YOU WON AND YOU HAVEN'T HEARD FROM ME --- PLEASE CONTACT ME! I've already sent out the e-mails for prizes and such ^_^; I may have old e-mail addresses... many hugs and off to bed, misa (Marisa) |
