Hey, everyone! Thanks for your time.
I've been attending cons since 2008, and ever since I saw my first Masquerade, I've desperately wanted to participate. Trouble is, I don't have a lot of theatrically inclined friends around, and I've struggled to come up with a good idea. I wrote a skit for Advent Children a while back, but it sort of didn't pan out (at least not yet!). But after this past Otakon, inspiration struck, and I have what could be a really cool idea for FFX to use my very first costume ever, Yuna.
I would like to do a performance based on the end of the game, when we're having to defeat the aeons one by one and send them. No lines, but I would be doing something akin to the sending dance in Kilika, with humanized/gijinka aeons behind. Maybe we can choreograph something, or maybe Tides can be back there, too, fighting them one by one. I also think having an Auron there as the last one she has to finish sending would be powerful, and I even think it would be cool to have a few people in black with glowy things, dancing about to make pyreflies, and maybe someone standing in for Yu Yevon, doing a kind of puppet master thing...
This isn't your typical funny skit, but I'm a sucker for heartstrings. I don't have too developed of an idea, just this concept. I'd really like to work on fleshing it out with people. Totally open to ideas and suggestions!
Like I said, I've got Yuna down. I'd need people with interest in portraying aeons, Tidus, and potentially Auron. Artists/designers with ideas on gijinka designs would be loved, as would anyone with dance/choreography experience and audio/technical know-how. It would be nice to live in vaguely the same region for practice, but we can potentially work remotely and individually and practice together in person closer to the performance. I don't have a specific con in mind yet; it'll depend on how well or easily it comes together. It would be fabulous to have it done by next Otakon, but we'll see.
Anyway... I hope that sounds interesting to some of you. I would really love to finally get on stage with some other cosplayers and actors!
