Raven's Belt?

Does anyone know of a relatively cheap belt that looks like Raven's from Teen Titans? I need it for San Diego in about a week and a half! I've been looking, but haven't found anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Of course! Raven is my all time favorite anime character! I know I've seen a belt like hers, but it was uber-expensive. Maybe I'll just skip it and get a cheap alternative or something. I was looking to buy a few so I could have the matching things on the back of her hands and the clasp on her cloak too.

That's great advice! I'll have to try that. To tell the truth, I haven't started any of the costume yet. I only have a week and a half to finish it! Eek! Maybe I can take a black belt that I have and make little round things to glue/sew/stick to it. Oh well, if all else fails I could just go without it. My cloak will be closed most of the time anyways.

just a warning...

spray paint and styrofoam don't play well together. the spray paint will deteriorate the styrofoam ball until it's just a mishapen lump.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'm just going to skip on the belt for now until I can actually buy one that I'm sure won't break or anything like that. I'm still trying to figure out what to do for the things on the back of her hands...I'm thinking maybe paper mache or something like that. I have the red paint and I can just put yellow paper around it.

What if you covered the styrofoam with something before painting? Like paperclay, or something similar? That might protect it from being eaten by the paint. Just make sure you cover the bottom of it too...

that could possibly work. my friend used duct tape but obviously if you're going for a smooth finish, that wouldn't be the best answer.

A Raven cosplayer! Wicked ^^

For the belt, cut circles out of cardboard and cover them with gold foil (found in craft stores) and then glue a fake gem to the center of each (gems also found in craft stores). Punch a hole in each side of every circle. Next, find a chunky gold chain. By cutting apart about every tenth link and connecting it to the cardboard circles, you get a Raven belt!

Tips:
To cut apart a link, use a wirecutter and cut apart as few links a nescessary.

Be generous when coating the circles in glue before adding the foil. Just becareful not to glob it on, or the glue will dry in lumps.

Good luck!

Oh yes, and if you do not want to make the belt, search ebay for gold chain belts. I found this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...3019 515&rd=1
But I don't know if that'll suit you.

This reply is a bit late... but I thought I might throw in my suggestion:
Target. I think they still have it in stock...
Target sells a ring-chain belt, that even has the end chain hanging by the clasp, like Raven's (though its only been shown in like 4 shots I've seen throughout the entire time I've watched the series. But it's there.)
The belt would need to be slightly altered: the front has rings that are black and white and the backs are silver. If you took gold spray paint to the whole thing, it would work well.
I looked to see it they had it on the Target website, but they don't show a lot of their stock online. So, just take a quick trip to your local Target. I think it was about $10. My buddy bought one to rip up to use on their songstress Rikku belt a short while back...
Hope that'll help someone.

Raven is not an anime character. She is a character created by DC and the idiots at CN decided to be cool and pretend it's an anime. And FFGirl13, learn to type, you sound like a total n00b. Newbies are okay, but please learn to type.

As for the belt, you can find belts like that at most stores with the gold and the rings with holes. Maybe put Christmas ornaments in between?

Sorry if I seem rude, it's been a long day.
