Exclamation Are there no bishonen?!

why is it that most of the jrock coplays i see here are girls? aren't there any bishonen out there? a girl doing crossplay kinda takes away half of the accomplishment out of it. it's much easier for a girl to look extremely feminen than it is for a guy, which is a part of what makes v kei artist so amazing. if there are, and i'm missing all of them, please let me know i am looking for bishonen to do cosplays with. girls are cool too, but i wanna find at least one other guy who can pull it off well. i alreasy posted about this before but i'll do it again. right now i wanna do a cyberland malice mizer cosplay, or at least mervellies themed. so if anyone is intersted let me know.

What if a girl looks like a guy? Does that work for you...? XD!!! Good luck with your search. Seriously. Bishonen are very difficult to find these days. They either come out at night in a place that we don't know of...or they're right in front of our faces and they just don't want to wear a visual kei costume. That bothers me the most. When a boy has potential but won't do it. *sighs*

Have you ever seen Camino or Duel Jewel? If not, you should look into them, not only are most of the band members bishi's, they are very talented. I saw them at Fanime and they were incredible.

Hmm...maybe you should post this on the Crossplay board. Perhaps a few Jrock-cosplaying bishies will be there.

One of the best Manas I've ever seen was a guy. His name is Kabukiboy, and he makes really incredible Manas, especially his Le ciel Mana dress (it won first place in the Mana look-alike competition on cosplaylab.com!). So yeah, not all Jrock cosplayers are girls.

is a bishonen just a guy that looks just like a girl?
Not necessarily. A Bishonen is basically a pretty boy. Many of the favorite bishies out there are effeminate too, but then again many are not. Most male characters in animes or mangas are bishonen.

Kabuki from this site often cosplays Mana, and he's male.

My boyfriend cosplayed Gackt. XD

I've seen a few other guys, too. It's more rare than the girls that do it, but it exists.

I've seen this very good Taiwanese Shin(from NANA) cosplayer.. but.. I guess that doens't really fall in the Jrock catagory.. but.. He was still a very good bishi-type cosplayer...

o_o you know.. I'm really offended by this. I put a lot of hard work into my costumes and to have someone look down upon me because of my gender really hurts. o_o;; ...and I find it kind of rude. X___X

lemoned - ditto.

A lot of us girls that cosplay J-Rockers go out of our way to bind and such so that we look more like a feminine guy, not a girl. So its not always easy to pull off as you might think. And also, not all J-Rockers are feminine. I usually cosplay the more masculine ones myself.

But anyways, there are still plenty of guys that cosplay J-Rockers too. Maybe not as many as girls but they do exist. However, for guys, J-Rock isn't really crossplay no matter how feminine the guy they're cosplaying as is because they're still cosplaying as a guy. They may be crossdressing, but they aren't crossplaying. *nod*

Thank you. I guess some guys don't appriciate how much it hurts to bind? It's not just squishing the boobs.. it also gives back and breathing problems. And not all guys that cosplay vk can pull it off. ~__~ I think that if anyone-no matter the gender- can pull off a really good vk cosplay, then they deserve props.

and I love your Die. XD -props- :x
