I'm from South NJ in Mercer County. There aren't many Cons in New Jersey either. And I don't really want to take a road trip to another state for a Con for only three days. I'd love a gathering.

Ahh...So true, there isn't many con in New Jersey.Though traveling for 3 days some dumb, but sometime it can be worth the fun.Hey if you go with friends you leave your folks at home and enjoy without much of a adult on you. It's how I made it to Otakon in Mary Land.

Speaking of a gathering,I agree...Though the best con for New Jersey people to be at is Anime NEXT.It's really good, most of the people are from Jersey period.Hopefully all you Jersey people go there too.

I am from Morris County. I currently am attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick, however. A weekend Northern NJ gathering would be most convenient.

Like one at the beginning of Decemeber as a "Christmas Shoot", that way, no one will be away to miss it. Then, in the Spring, we do "Springtime/ romance" shoot (themes of spring, yatta yatta yatta). In the summer, go to the shore for a beach shoot ^^

There are tons of pretty places to take photos in Jersey. ^^

Whatcha think?
I attend GG tournents at the break, I think this months is on the 26th. Last month I was suprised to run in to Oshi-boy type visting from philly or whearever he hales from.

As for photo shoots, I think the clifts at palacade park in fort lee/edge water might make a very dramatic setting.

but isn't the Palisades Park thing in . . .NY?
I am not familiar with that area, so I am unsure of where it is, but then again, I won't be doing the driving to the picnic or get together or wherever, because I would get so lost! >.< (but that's what husbands are good for, so I'd get there safely).

also, I do photography and am wanting to desperately do a few shoots for free where I would give the doubles to those who are in the photographs. I am needing new models and new portraits. (check my site in my sig to see some of my work).

Anyway, Sheenaringo, I have no idea how to get to Otakon, but I was going to go this past year and know it is a few hours away from me. . and anime next this past year was only 25 minutes maybe 20 minutes away from where I live, so it was simple enough to get to. I am going to Anime Next this coming year as well. I am also going to Anime Boston (I've never been to MA!).

Hmm this will be difficult, yet exciting to get any of these get togethers.

How many people have been to Willowbrook Mall, Rockaway Mall, or Garden State Mall? Those are malls I would be able to get to, and I know of parks and nice areas nearby those malls to hang out. Malls are usually easy for people to associate directions with, is why I brought them up.
I am unfamiliar with a lot of other malls in NJ, but I don't attend school like the majority of you (I would be a junior in college if I were in school), and I have free weekends so for me going to places wouldn't be hard or a hassle, and pretty much, I am willing to go to any location for a picnic or get together.

I am a pretty organized person, and maybe I'll come up with ideas and everyone could help out on a decision for possibly a Christmas get together. I have a lot of free time at night to process ideas on it, and I'll search online for a bunch of varied things. If you want to help out after we decide on a place, I'd apprecite that as well ^_^

Awe...I guess for you, just take the NJ turnpike all the way down, jump on the delaware memorial bridge and then 95S goes right by it... Or you could just jump right onto 95S.... It's very easy. Look for a bay... just don't walk on the edge of it to find the place... i did that and i got a little lost. but i did get to change in a parking garage and put my make-up on in a very empty mall... woo-hoo!!
