cream bleach
^^; this is kinda sad to say... but I was wondering...
I have light facial hair (and I'm a girl) so I got cream bleach so you can't see it, right? well.. my mom says if you use the bleach once the hair comes back darker then before. Is that true? I couldn;t care less if the hair comes back the same it was before, but I don't want it to come back darker. Please help ^^; |

Hate to tell you but your mom sounds like she twisting the old thing of, "shave it and it'll grow back thicker."
Technically this is incorrect for both instances. Your hair can't get any darker than it is already. I know from experience since I use facial bleach creme too. You're only lifting the color from the folicles that is it. So don't worry.

Just to back up megumibish. What your mother said is not true. Bleaching it out your facial hair will not cause it come back darker or thicker since the new hair growing in your folicle is unaffected by bleaching the layer that's above on the skin.

My mom's the same way... don't worry ^_^;
It's better to bleach the hair... because waxing is painful... and you have to wait for the hair to grow back. I don't recommend shaving (it causes hair to grow out a bit stubbly) so just stick to bleaching. |

sorry to burst your bubble but the shaving hair thing is true as it stimulates the growth of hair and technically the roots are what grow out and they are thicker then the initial body hair, there has been recent research on this so i would recommend shaving as little as possible.

don't worry about the bleach cream. I used Sally Hansen bleach several times and I can assure you that it doesn't make your hair any darker when they grow back

If you shave a hair, the regrowth looks thicker and darker because you are seeing the blunt, cut-off end of the hair. Natural hairgrowth has an end that tapers to a fine point, which looks lighter.
And no, shaving does not make it grow faster. Or thicker. Your follicle does not know and does not care what is happening to any part of your hair other than the root. Because the hair looks darker (see above), you may be also noticing hairs you didn't see before. Bleach lightens the hair on the surface, and the roots growing in will look darker in comparison to the bleached hair. The roots are exactly the same color as your hair was before you bleached it. EDIT: LOL WTF, thread from 2004. Keitou, you have led us astray by resurrecting this old thing.
