mod chips

okay has anyone tried the usb mod chip for the ps2? any drawbacks?

is there a better buy somewhere? or the chips that have to be welded better?
is 96 000 hours of mp3s too much?

Wish I could answer that but I don't even have a PS2. I don't think my mod chip for the ps one counts.

When I get my ps2 and mod chip I'll choose the weld on version. People seem to have this mortal fear of opening up expensive electronic equipment he he well I soldered the mod chip for my ps1 back in the days when it was considered "expensive" and everything went well. btw if you choose to solder you might want to get the fine tip soldering iron because those wires are ridiculously skinny and also don't forget to ground yourself to avoid the unlikely but possible incident of damaging your console with a zap of static electricity.

We haven't modded our PS2 yet. Maybe if the price drops on them again....

My husband soldered on the mod chip for his PSOne...so that's probably what he would do for the PS2. He just has this fear that he's gonna screw it up and we'd have to buy a new console.
