Well, once I start to make mine I can document it thoroughly and post here.

But it depends on when you need it, because my convention won't be until June, so I'm not really in a rush. But I will probably work on it during the winter.

Well you see im trying to make a sword for my bf and idk what would be the best materialls to use and what would be the lightest, and as for the bow i think i may know what i will use but any sujestions would be taken gladely (:

I have made all my cosplay swords out of wood so far (Zangetsu, Tookijin, Tenseiga and Byakuya's sword from InuYasha) and that's probably what I'll keep on doing because I'm familiar with woodworking and have the materials easily at hands.
But I don't know what you'd like to do the sword out of... that was just my opinion. Sorry if this wasn't of any help.

I've made a really decent sword out of cardboard from the anime Bleach, so I know it can be done (you just have to think about the steps as you go and always try to find ways to give it strength). SO cardboard is a cheap alternative. I've seen lots of swords out of lightweight wood. I'm going to be making Tessaiga out of foamboard and a wooden dowel after the holidays.

Awesome! Yeah, having good amount of time to do it is great! I'm hoping to finish my foamboard Tessaiga within January or February and if it goes well, I'll try putting together a tutorial about it (but I can't promise anything). If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I'll see what I can do to help if I can. ^^ The best part about cosplay to me is trying to figure stuff out, then showing off your efforts later.

I'd say that depends on when next convention is. I'm making slayer Sango, and it's taking me ages. On the other hand, I don't work on her every day.

I feel like making a village version too one day...

Woo, more Sangos! I'm going as Slayer Sango (frankly, I don't like village sango's outfit, but I'm gonna do that version too if other stuff gets done in time). Keep in mind if you are going to a really hot summer con (like myself) or a cooler con. You don't want to overheat or be too uncomfortable the entire time...... I'm only gonna be Demon Slayer Sango for a day or half a day so I figure I should be okay.

While you're deciding which you want to do, I'd suggest making progress on Hiraikotsu.

@Brainshake: :3 I have until the end of May, and since I have done both before, I'll work a bit quicker. Although I may end up doing both just because <3

@creativecrater: Already done, sweetie~ <3 I made Sango for a friend of mine, (she's so cuuuute~ <3) and I'll just use that one.

It's actually my second one, so it's new and improved! The only reason I don't wear her costume is because she is a good four inches taller than me, plus I want to re make the slayer suit. It came out nice, but I am convinced I can do ten times better. >.> That, and I don't have the daunting task of about 7-8 costumes to do in 3 months >.<
