Coming from experience, I've noticed that many girls actually get jealous...that is if the crossplayer is actually effective. If you're a sucky hairy crossplayer and they know that you are a man then they're all for you. But if you're very "trap"-like, watch out for catty women who are jealous of your amazingly effeminate look.

and here I thought girls who got jealous of effeminate guys weren't comfortable wit there own femininity to some extent ...

If the girl is jealous then they obviously have low self esteem. I think that it shouldn't matter, I see a lot of girls crossplay a.d no one cares it should be the same way for men. I also respect it when a guy crossplayss and I do like it it shows that he feels comfortable about himself most likely and crossplaying can be difficult so it shows the hard work he put in it. Not to mention that it looks really cute sometimes. If he's just a guy who threw on a sailor moon costume with hairy legs etc. Then I don't like itit though.

I've not experienced any jealous girls? oo;

I have, however, experienced an adorable Japanese girl who has a massive crush on me because I crossplay. >>;

It's hardly a woman's lack of self esteem that causes jealousy....a woman can be very happy with themselves and still find that they are jealous of something one has or what one may look like. But I didn't post my comment for us to read deeply into the reasons and causes for jealousy of crossplayers, I merely felt that I should throw in my experience as a crossplayer. I was thinking it would be helpful to let people know, I don't think we need to get into a big discussion as to why a girl might be jealous of an effeminate male crossplayer. :P

I think it's kinda funny, especially when it's a total joke, like having their beard unshaven and very obviously a dude, like the Sailor Venus over younder. But it's kinda cool when they really look like a girl and you don't realize they're a guy till you talk to them, like this crossplayer.

Yes, because it's always fun to see guys play the female characters that they love. I saw a lot more of that this year at Anime North (from Super Sailor Jupiter to Glinda the Good Witch of the North)

Just as a reference point: I did my non-passable crossplay schtick yesterday at Anime Mid-Atlantic, first in my maid dress then in my sailor fuku. Since I spent the entire con getting hug and photo requests from ladies (and guys too), I will humbly suggest that girls like it just fine.

I'm glad to have come across this thread. Makes me feel more confident about doing my Scarlett O'Hara or Pauline (from the 1989 Hugh Grant miniseries Champagne Charlie) cosplay.

This is a long-term thing though, as I want to lose a fair bit of weight before doing this (I'm definitely overweight and right now even with a corset I wouldn't get much of a womanly shape).

I'm definitely going to do this 'right' though. Corset, hair removal and makeup. I don't want to look like a guy in drag doing this.

Though I am planning on the hoop being pretty large.

Only the sexy ones.

Chins and an obvious, tiny little shadow where there's been stubble, and it's a no form me.

I crossplay as Sango from InuYasha and seemed to be a trap....people called me female all day....Was funny. Several girls told me I was good and pretty. Then I spoke(wasn't hiding being male) were all like "holy sh!t you're a guy!?" I was suprised by their reactions. I have pics of my crossplay on here. I personally thought I was bad but other people liked it so I guess it wasn't bad.

Meh...whatever floats his boat haha. I think there are some really funny crossplays that guys do, though some of them. The only time I am bothered is if a guy is wearing a speedo or something, doesn't shave or trim his pubic hair, and it pokes out everywhere. That's just gross to me x_x sorry!!

I also really love guys that seriously crossplay, especially the ones that legit pass for females. I'm in awe of how amazing they are *_*
